Nice bracket

Heavy duty but not as pictured!

As usual I researched these before buying, including downloading the John Sterling catalog to make sure they were what I wanted, but the ones that I received, while labeled RP-0046-WT exactly as described in the listing, have a different hole arrangement than pictured. There is no hole in the angled brace at the bottom of the bracket to let you screw straight-in to the (offset) mounting hole. So except for the one (forward, up) hole in these brackets, for all the others you will have to drive them-in at an angle. Not a big deal, but you'd think for a company (John Sterling/Knape and Vogt) that brags about being around since 1931, that they would have figured-out how to produce a bracket design that enables you to screw it straight into the wall!

Pretty good bracket

Doing what it should. We had a shelf that is MDF composite board that was painted in place in our closet and this bracket in the middle has helped tremendously. It should be noted however, that installing it when you cannot remove the shelf is a difficult 2 person job, hence 4 stars. Maybe that is my bad, but I know too many people with the same problem (shelf painted in place) and the placement of the screw holes is key.

High quality and sturdy!

These are high quality brackets. I used them to put more shelves above the shelves I already have in my closet. It is so easy, just use two brackets per shelf and a nicely sanded length of plywood, and voila! Instant storage! If you are doing a long shelf, order three and put a bracket in the center to help support the shelf. I really like these brackets and would order them again!

Gets the job done!

We used 3 for each shelf of 8 foot long and a foot wide. Hopefully will hold up in the future.

Quality control is lacking. Weld / soldering problems.

I bought 3 of these shelf brackets for my closet shelves to provide extra support. I liked the design of the John Sterling brackets and it was a good price as well so it was a no brainer. However, upon close inspection, you could see many paint imperfections on the surfaces when in viewing them in the sunlight in certain angles. Also, there were excess metal / melted solder which was painted over and it’s bumpy and ugly. The bottom mounting hole is offset to the right and it was hard to put a screwdriver in there without scratching the paint (which I did). Luckily, I had some leftover white paint from another DIY project that I used to cover up the bare metal. Maybe “white-out” would work too. Quality control was definitely lacking or the company sent their “rejected” products to Amazon to sell. In retrospect, I should have bought the shelf brackets from my local home hardware store as I could have inspected it before buying it. My spouse is now very unhappy that her closet is now ruined.

Built strong, good value

Bought these because i need to put some shelves up in the basement laundry... does the job. Make sure you take into account the fact these are triangular shaped when deciding to use these as your space may not fit these well
