Fine for starters
These are fine skates for undiscerning beginners. Worth the usual selling price for sure - I started my 5yo in them, and he’s still going at 6 1/2. I find he needs them adjusted to one above his street shoe size - so when I bought them he was a 12, and did fine with the size 1 setting. Now he’s a 1, and asked me to make them bigger - he’s comfortable at “2.” I do recommend you consider changing out the wheels for a softer version - the wheels they come with are quite hard, which is rough outside, and skitters indoors. The skates use a standard 8mm (608) bearing, and I got a good fit with 57mm wheels in a 78a hardness (see picture). You could get light-up wheels too! You’ll want to buy a set of bearings for the new wheels, if they don’t come with them, or a bearing tool to get out the ones in the stock wheels for reuse. My only complaint is that the plastic ratchet straps seem to be stripping - won’t stay on a tight setting. This is probably what will end their useful life, but it’s going on 2 years so again, they’re worth the $ starting out. Next time I’ll choose a higher-end skate, but it’s a gamble when you don’t know if your kid will really take to skating!

Nice skates
My 8yr old loves them. Easy to put on and take off. They slide nicely across concrete.

Not sure if size is accurate
I purchased this skate for my son even though it's purple, he doesn't care. He wears a size 11-12 in crocs kids shoes so I thought this would be perfect and he has a lot of time to get to size 4, which is the max listed on the size medium we purchased. I was under the impression that was equivalent to the J11-12 in small, I guess. When we received them and he tried it on, he said they were tight. I took the shoe out of the skate and his toe touches the top of the shoe and it certainly looked tight. I extended that adjustable flap at the front so his toes have more space. But I actually had to also pull out the skate to where it adjusts to a size 3 so that he felt comfortable. He now has plenty of room in the skate itself and I can see how that allows more room. But the interior shoe is still very small and tight at the toe area and he says the material digs in to his feet. It doesn't look like any way to expand the material around the toes either. I will be returning this and looking for a larger size because I don't think this will last him as long as we had hoped. Also the rubber stop on one side looks already scratched and he only tried it on in the house. He doesn't even know how to skate yet.

“The Best Gift Ever!” - My 4-year-old
I purchased these skates for my 4-year-old during the Corona lockdown. He is a first-time skater and LOVES them! After an hour or so practicing on the carpet inside, he was chomping at the bit to take these bad boys for a real test drive outside. Padded everywhere, I let my precious baby loose on the sidewalk, feeling like a Mama bird watching her baby fly for the first time. These skates have the perfect amount of wheel spin for a beginner. I’ve seen plenty of skates that the child practically just walks in them. These allow the child to actually learn how to roller skate! The high top ankle support is great and feels very sturdy. My son can get them on and off himself. His current shoe size is 11 and he’ll have plenty of room to grow in these. Adjusting the size was easy! Highly recommend for new skaters and kids who aren’t interested in just walking on wheels.

Cute but need to oil wheels
I have a pair of chicago skates from when I was a kid and only had to replace the wheels so I was super excited to see they had adjustable skates for my 5 year old! Rather than buying skates every 6 months we can just adjust the size. I haven't tried to adjust it yet, they're currently a little big (barely) so the fit right now is good. They're relatively easy to get on and off, getting the latch up on the buckle might be tricky for little fingers as it is a little stiff but once it's up it's super easy for a kid to do the rest. The only thing I think people need to be aware of is that the wheels don't really roll, it's easily fixed with a little WD-40 but just so you know what to expect when you get them, I had the exact same problem with my skates when I was a kid from this brand. I don't know what it is but for whatever reason their wheels are awful. Other than that, no complaints, they're great beginner skates.

Wow my kid actually loves this.
This was a Covid purchase. My 6yr old wanted/needed to do something beside bike-ride. I purchased these roller-skates with every intention of returning it in a few days. 4 months later he still uses it. I am not sure how, but these skates are very easy to use. He is able to put them on properly and tightly and boom go and start skating with no assistance. The only issue is just that the fit gets a little too tight after 2hrs of skating. But to me that is just a sign that he needs to take a break. In its first week the break some how popped off. But after some physical brute force I was able to put it back in. That was the only time that happened so its all good.

Not bad.
I bought these for my 6yo after a field trip to the local roller rink got him excited. They are decent skates for a little kid, but they are definitely sized smaller than the description. My son is a 1.5, and we had to set these to 3 before they stopped hurting his feet. I figure they may last us a year with the way he runs through shoes, but he's so happy with them I don't even mind. Otherwise, they adjust easily, and he has no problem getting them on and off himself. The only real complaint is that the wheels were screwed on tight and they barely moved. Luckily, I had a Y-tool for skates on hand, and it only took a turn to loosen them up to a decent, but not too aggressive, spin.
