Works in places other tools can't reach!
I was helping a neighbor with a Nissan Rogue HVAC issue (cold air on driver's side). Found it was the small heat/cool blend motor mounted above and to the right of the accelerator pedal. Nissan was smart enough to put the small DC motor in horizontally so it could be replaced without taking out the dash but they were clever enough to not put an access hole in the gas pedal bracket that would allow access to the screws holding the black air vent tube that has to be removed to get the blend motor out. There is only about 1 1/2" clearance from the bottom to get the phillips head screw out. This precision kit has a 6 degree ratchet action AND the knurled wheel gives enough leverage to remove hardware once its loose. Nice tool set, includes both commonly used SAE and Metric sockets and a full collection of 1/4" and 5/16" bits (straight, phillips, Torx, square.) Made the job very easy and saved the neighbor the cost of a trip to the dealer. Highly recommended; wish I had gotten this set sooner.

Handy little kit.
Nice assortment of sizes, very handy for assembling things around the house and servicing lawn equipment. The bits have taken some punishment and show very little wear. It would be nice to have a one inch extension or some such included. The ratcheting is effective but a little rough and there's a bit of swing before engagement. Overall, worth the price for the convenience--a very compact and portable kit.

Very useful
Love this set my father bought me one over a decade ago. Used the crap out of it until the ratcheting mechanism on the one side broke so I figured it lasted me that long ill buy another. P.s. I couldn’t find or figure out if I could warranty the broke ratchet so i just bought a whole new kit.

Small and relatively flat
Small and relatively flat, helped in securing bookshelf against wall anchors in a very tight space.

Quality product based on name only…
This is the first Gear Wrench product I have ever owned. Most of my tools are the old style made in America Craftsman brand. I have a new project with limited space to get a screwdriver into. With this compact design I don’t have that issue any more.

Very handy little kit, decently made
After looking at the similar two kits in Lowe's, I passed on those and got this Gearwrench instead because the ratchet is a tad longer (5.1" end to end) and Taiwan vs. China (although frankly for these bits and sockets and their intended use, country of manufacture isn't a big deal on this one, quality/suitability wise). Sockets are pretty decently broached and finished...bits look like decent standard fare other than the two smallest allen bits which need a slight correction on the ends of their tips (not a big deal but with some fasteners it might matter). The 1/4" socket adapter is a half fail, though...it fits with a little persuasion but I have to push it out from the top side with something because there's no way I can pull it out normally without pliers - that can be an advantage or a disadvantage, just a slight hassle. It doesn't use the little grooves to meet the spring clip like the bits do, but rather slides in deep enough that the whole of the hex body sits behind the clip - I may carefully grind a little relief into it and see if that helps to remove it more easily. I also bought the similar but MUCH nicer quality 8" mini bit ratchet from Vim and the socket adapter with it is flawless (that's an extremely well made and pleasure-to-use tool, and if you don't need the bits/sockets with the tool then it's worth checking those out in either 3", 5", 8", or 12" versions...very nice tool and a notch up over Gearwrench here). All in all this Gearwrench set is a winner and certainly preferable over the Kobalt at Lowe's, plus you know that Gearwrench will probably always be around with a replacement/warranty if needed, which cannot be said anymore for the Kobalt label. If you want the best quality, check out the Vim (also made in Taiwan), but this one is not shabby at all...just remember that it is tiny and not so well suited for high torque applications. Update: After a couple months of rather frequent use, I'm still very happy with it. Really put some stupid force on it removing some 3/8" x 5" lag screws from old studs and it held up fine though it wasn't comfortable with that much torque applied. I see a lot of reviews showing separated ratchet heads...hope that doesn't happen to mine but so far so good.

As an industrial electrician: the most useful tool in my bag
I'm an industrial electrician, working in stone crushing plants. While it is not my most-used tool, this is by far the most useful and versatile tool in my bag. This small set allows me to carry my most commonly used sockets in a case that would literally fit in my pocket. In my field, all the sockets here are about the only ones I need for my job. I also carry both a 1/4" square and hex extension, a deep 10MM, and a 5MM (which even fits in the case under the ratchet, there's a small void underneath where the ratchet sits). With these, I can confidently walk up a 200ft conveyor belt knowing that I have basically all the sockets, bits, and extensions I would need to perform 99% of the jobs I do. If you're an industrial electrician, specifically in the stone, sand, and gravel field, I would HIGHLY recommend this set. Unfortunately, after about 5 months of use, the 1/4" side of the ratchet began to slip on a few teeth. While it is still useable, I don't want to put a lot of pressure on the ratchet at this point. For $22 a set, I'll definitely be buying a replacement. However, I do find it weird that the 1/4" side failed first, since I definitely use the 5/16" side with more force and more frequency. All-in-all, for the price you pay for this thing, it's a great tool. Even if I only get 5 months out of it (and it may just be a defect), for $22, that's a small price to pay for such a versatile tool.

Decent set
Decent set of sockets and bits. The bit ratchet is quite stiff, so back drag is an issue for fine work.

Great little Imperial / Metric set
Got to say that this is a truly brilliant little wrench / socket set, perfect for bike repair and other small works. The fact it comes with both imperial and metric sockets was helpful and have made use from both. The case seems sturdy enough. All the component do seem like very good quality for the price. Highly recommend. Edit: first time I ever used the 1/4 inch side of the wrench, it completely fell apart, all the pieces flew off all over the place and I lost and important piece. This has render nearly the whole set redundant, which is such a shame because, as you can see from the above section of this review I was raving about it. Sadly it’s past the return date now, so I’m stuck. Please send me a spare price Gear Wrench and I’ll edit the review and leave the original 5*

Fell apart
I bought this little ratchet set 24 days ago for my job as an Appliance Technician. It was great to get into tight and awkward areas that a regular ratchet set or screwdriver can't get into. Until today when the ratchet completely fell to pieces in the middle of a job. I could've really used it later in the day too. Hopefully they will replace it and I'll have better luck with the new one.

Very disappointing
Bought this set, I barely used it and the 1/4 ratchet side already damaged, I own a Mastercraft set ( made by the same manufacturer) for well over 6 years and I used it countless times until it gave up, it had lifetime warranty but no longer available, figures, what I'm getting at is the quality has gone down the drain because I have proof that they were better in the past. So if you are into very light projects, this might work, I use "might" term very loosely. If real adequate work is your thing then you are just buying a socket and bit set, the 8 mm (5/16) ratchet side still works on my old one, can't comment about this set, I haven't used it yet but I'm not holding my breath. Amazon told me to contact the manufacturer, I'm doing that next but my faith on this thing is gone.

Great tool. Aweful case
Great tool works well for difficult spots. The case however is aweful and has opened up on me numerous times and spilled all the bits over the ground.
