UPDATED. Still not great. Actually bad.
UPDATE: save your money and just don’t buy. After using it as described below (in my earlier review) to attempt to fertilize my parents’ garden, all setting have been rendered useless. It no longer mixes the concentrate with the water output. The evidence is twofold: one, the output water is not blue hued from the fertilizer, and two, the reservoir isn’t emptying. Now before you discount me as a disgruntled person who “must be doing something wrong” or “doesn’t know what he’s doing”… I do. I do my research and investigate and get to the bottom of things. Each ratio on the dial mixes through a different output, but as I used the product and one output would “die” I would just move up to the next ratio until it died and so on. I tried cleaning it and running water through, etc etc followed directions and all that. Just save your money and fertilize by hand. Or tell me which product you use instead of this one because I’m returning it! EARLIER REVIEW: OK folks. Here’s the tea: the sprayer is going to perform slightly underwhelmingly and the reservoir is most definitely going to leak horribly and pop off if you use it in the dry fertilizer function. HERES WHY: there is a design flaw with the amount of water being put into the reservoir versus the amount being put out of the end nozzle - but only when you use the granular fertilizer function. In granular function, there is siGniFiCAnTLy more water being put into the reservoir than is being put out the end, causing the reservoir to fill, build pressure, overflow and leak your chemicals horribly, and eventually dislodge fully. I tried every way I could to make it work, adjusted all the settings, and eventually decided just to make up a super concentrate of granular fertilizer in water and just use the liquid function instead. MORE BAD: overall, the different nozzle settings function adequately, but the “shower“ function is underwhelming and uneven, projecting more toward the outside corners and lacking centrally. The jet function could probably strip paint off of a car and I’m not sure the purpose of it being that strong unless there is some sort of distance fertilizing competition. The other functions seem fine. I assume mix ratios are within a certain margin of error. THE GOOD: I was expecting it’s to not mix well, but it seemed to do a decent enough job given that I don’t have a way to measure it’s precision of mix ratio. I will assume it’s at least close because none of my plants are fried and it eventually used up everything in the tank. It’s comfortable and seems well-built structurally, but I’m quite disappointed in the granular function I mentioned above, as well as the shower function of the nozzle. Would I recommend? Eh. Read the above and set your expectations accordingly.

Inconvenient for spraying small amounts of product
Update 9/28/21: I used the sprayer today for the second time. After walking around my back yard for about twenty minutes I realized the level in the bottle had not gone down AT ALL and I was just spraying water! I washed the sprayer out the first time I used it exactly according to directions so that wasn't the problem. What a waste of time. I got out an old pump sprayer I had and treated my lawn. The Chapin is currently in the trash. I don't know why it works for some people and not for others. I suppose it's just poor quality control. I just got this sprayer today and tested it with a liquid fish fertilizer on my lawn. I watched a video to make sure I understood the instructions. Set it up, added my fertilizer and started spraying...and spraying...and spraying. Since I was doing a small test area I only added 4 ounces of product but noticed the level was not going down. I guess it should have been obvious, but I finally realized that if you tilt the sprayer down to target the grass close to you, the end of the suction hose is not in the liquid and is probably just sucking air. It is uncomfortable, but you have to hold the sprayer level if you only have a small amount of liquid in the bottle, although it still didn't fully empty the bottle. The other issues with the sprayer is that the only setting that worked for me was the fan spray and the jet. The other two settings just dribbled out. The sprayer leaks from the hose connection. Tighten it a little and it leaks, tighten it more and it leaks more. I imagine the leaking reduces the pressure and that's probably why all the settings don't work like they should. I'm going to work on the hose connection and hopefully get a better fit. I really want to like this product and hope I can get the bugs worked out.

Not worth it. The front end of the sprayer is horrible.
The Dry/Wet lever works just fine. It is a bit hard to turn but that's not a bid deal. The hose connection works just fine as long as you have the rubber gasket in place. The front end of the sprayer is horrible. There are 4 different spray settings you can choose from and 2 of them were poorly designed. The spread is so wide that the water hits the cone at the front of the sprayer and creates a mist so the water/chemicals splatters in all directions. And because the stream is hitting the cone, the water also dribble down the front of the sprayer and lands near your toes. This could be pretty dangerous depending on the chemicals you are using. The other 2 settings work fine. The price for this sprayer is the best I could find but its just not worth it if only half of the nozzles work.

Poor quality
I was hopeful that this tool would provide me with years of problem free service but unfortunately I can not recommend this sprayer. When the sprayer is set to “dry”, it leaks between the container and the top cap. When spraying, it is not a uniform spray across the nozzle as it sprays out of the sides leaving a large gap in the middle. It’s truly disappointing.

Does what it's for with a bit of mess
Dial and on off switch work great. Easy to set up to hose without leak. Setting sin teaspoons table spoons and oz per gallon. Wish there was mL on the dial like there is mL graduations on the side. Wet dry feature is cool for water soluble fertilizers. Do not use with stuff hose and the hose will win over this devices plastic connector. Only gripe is that when you use it although it sprays on the latter you selected water drops from the spout of the nozzle end.
