Good timer to use during timed workouts.
I have been using this timer since April of 2012 for about 4-5 times a week for my P90X, P902, and Tony Horton's One on One workouts. I was looking for a simple inexpensive timer with large numbers that I could use for timing myself. I Initially was hesitant on purchasing this timer due to it's low number of reviews plus there is a similar timer also sold by Amazon which looks exactly the same except it received poor reviews due to poor quality and it not functioning properly. But since I could not find another timer which was inexpensive and had large numbers like this one I took the risk. So far the timer does what I need it to do. It keeps time for my workouts and at the same time it lets me know what time it is. As you can see from the picture of the product there are two timers built into the screen. The top timer can function as a clock while at the same time the bottom timer functions as a timer. This is the only way I know how to use this timer since I only use it to keep track of time and to see what time it is. There are other functions to this timer but since I only use it to keep time while working out I did not take the time to become familiar with them. As one reviewer said the timer is "well-made, sturdy, weighty, big." I agree. It also came with 1 AAA battery which is still going 4 months strong. Another reviewer complained about the screen becoming difficult to see at a "specific angle" due to it becoming "glarey." I have used this in the sun and it can become a bit glarey but nothing you can't fix by positioning it either away from the sun or under something. Indoors I didn't have any problems with the glare. Hopefully this review helps :)

Excellent, Especially For Piano Practice
These are excellent clock-timers for keeping track of how long you do something, which for me is practicing the piano. It uses fairly large, easy to read digits, and shows your count up timer and your clock at the same time, allowing you to time your activity and know what time it is simultaneously. Also, it just makes the device a little clock (without a light though) wherever you put it, which is nice. The button for starting and stopping the timer is nice and large and centrally located, and the button for reseting the timer is smaller and to the side. Because of these two things, it is easy to start and stop the timer at will, and avoid accidently resetting the timer. On top of all of this, the device emits a beep each time you start or stop the timer or press reset, so you can be sure that you actually carried out the function that you intended to. In addition to the count up timer and the clock, there are two count down timers, but you can't see the count up timer and clock when these are displayed, and vice versa. Another nice feature is that the bottom of the timer (where the main buttons are) will swing out perpendicular to the display, and act as a base, making it nice to set it on a flat surface, although it doesn't take a lot of force to tip it backwards. Using it like this also helps the device take up less space. The bottom can also be folded parallel with the rest of the device so that it is one flat piece. This would make it nicer for holding in your hands while you use it. The device is mostly black, with some gray and a little white, so it doesn't stick out or clash on my black piano. If your piano was white, though, you wouldn't have this advantage. It is really a nice clock-timer and perfect for tracking your time on an instrument. An additional count up timer would be nice for timing individual songs, but otherwise I'm very happy. A nice update might have two extra count up timers, displayed together, in addition to the two count down timers and the main count up timer and clock. Another couple of nice touches would be having a light, especially an indiglo type, and making it harder to tip backwards when the bottom is being used as a base, although these have just been minor issues for me.

Can't have two count-up timers
The description is a little vague and it made it seem like this timer was capable of having two count-up timers; this is not the case. You can either have 2 count-down timers, or a count-up timer with a clock. That's it. The display is a little hard to read. You have to view within a pretty small range otherwise it starts to fade. Setting the count-down timers is also very tedious. You have flip a switch on the back before you can set the timers, and then flip the switch back before you can start the timers. There also isn't an on/off button.

solid timer-poor design-cant use as intended
timer itself and display are solid. i buy and review a fair amount of products and mostly lean to the positive 5 star side a little too easy although this is one of the products i am unhappy with and wish i did not buy. i bought several timers at the same time and felt left down by all of them for one reason or another they didnt quite fit the simple reason i bought them. this one is a little deceiving cause it looks like it should function different and easier than it does. my complaint is the switch on the back to set the dang thing makes using this for certain simple processes difficult and almost unusable. i bought the timer to do count on stretches' for 5mins each and there is a switch on the back to move to set the timer that is complicated and it does not show that on the picture. to me it seems like a lazy design shortcomming/flaw . in my opinion because of that it makes it a crappy sport timer is what its advertised for. now all i use it for is a timer on the book self. it only shows the buttons on the front and you see and think "excellent simple straight forward easy to use nice ill buy" to find out thats not the case and you have been hoodwinked into a classic bait and switch into a device that wont easily do what you bought it for. cant say i would recommend am not happy with the purchase of this product

This is the second time I've ordered Timer. Easy to use. Reliable. Will reorder. I have one suggestion - I wish the Timer would light up when touched. Say for 5 to 10 seconds. If I wake up during the night, I have to shine a flashlight on it to see what time it is. If the Timer would just light up when touched, then turn itself off it'd be perfect.
