Citi Bike with a Basket
I have been using the Citi Bikes in Manhattan for two weeks now and on the first day realized that my jacket and food that I pick up for lunch would get crushed if placed on the rack on the Citi Bike using its bungee cord. This basket with one green bungee cord and one orange bungee cord from theTEKTON 6229 Bungee Cord Set, 12-Piece is all I need to have a basket mounted on the front of "my" Citi Bike. I was originally concerned about moving the center of gravity of the bike so far forward but the bikes are sooooo heavy that the bike still rides well. I will try and post pictures of how I mount the basket. It is easy. Just rest the bar on the rear top lip of the basket on the two protruding pegs of the bike's rack and lash the basket on with the bungee cords. I also mounted a Fenix MC11 on the front of the basket for light in the evening. Finally, a shoulder strap (recycled from an old duffel bag) can be used to carry the basket on your shoulder. I have been walking with the basket comfortably slung over my shoulder a mile each way between my house and the train station in the suburbs. By the way, I did not attach the mounting hardware to the basket.

Good wire basket
This is my third basket of this type. I am fairly rough on them and the wire net around the bottom of the basket and the sides break from repeated flexing. When the basket gets bent its main wires are stiff enough so they are hard to straighten. I like this basket because it is the right size and I can modify it like I want. I take a piece of 1 1/4 inch wood dowel and cut a kerf lengthwise in it and glue it to to front of the basket (hot glue gun). I can then mount a headlight on the front of the basket instead on the handlebar. This allows me to use a handlebar headlamp while using a basket.

Its pricey, so you expect ergonomics to be better.
Instructions very weak, and it came with no hex tool (I know we all have a set, but its still annoying). As for day to day....the hook mechanism is not sturdy, and the backup lanyard has to be permanently installed so I never put it on. The lanyard should unhook when needed. I lost my original basket on a car rack because of these two things. The handle is an afterthought and can pops off at the slightest angle other than 90% I gave it one extra star because the metal itself is solid.

Form meets Function
After extensive research in the bicycle basket area, I chose this model and I'm very happy I did! This basket is a great value for the price. I had it installed at my local bicycle shop, because my computer had to be moved and I didn't want to fiddle with it, but it seemed to be an easy enough task. The best feature is that the basket comes off if needed. It's extremely easy to just slide this off and on. There's even a lift up handle so you can carry the basket around, which I do at garage sales and markets! When I originally opened the box, I thought the basket was huge, but once it was installed and used, I've decided that it's just right! This basket has a smaller mesh design, so you don't have to worry about smaller things falling through it. I think it's also a nicer shape, more rounded, than the standard square models. This model is both stylish and functional. I'd definitely recommend this!

When Loaded It May Rub on the Front Tire
The basket is a little disappointing, but something I probably can fix. The basket is cantilevered off the handlebar. Unfortunately, even tightened to the max, the basket's weight (full of groceries, say) pulls the basket down so it rubs on the front tire. This causes two problems: the tire wears on the basket; the bike cannot back-up. There's some adjustment designed into the friction connection between the basket support and the handlebar, but not enough to keep the basket from rotating down.

This basket is constructed ok, but the mounting system could use a bit of work. It can be mounted on the handlebars or on the back of the bike. The hardware doesn't allow it to be attached to the rear of the bike but it can be done with additional hardware from the store.

Nice Basket
After three other baskets didn’t work for me for various reasons, the Topeak is definitely a winner. It looks great, mounts easily (but also solidly), and has the bonus of being able to easily be removed. I’m really happy with this basket for my grocery getter bike.

Bad design, good idea
I don't know what they were thinking. The bracket attaches to the handle bars, but there is no third point of attachment, so it forms a pivot or hinge. Even if you screw it down tight it will still sag until it hits your front wheel or fender. I am going to put something between the stem and the back of the basket to keep this from happening, but you would think they could have figured this out themselves. The basket itself is nice and the quick release is well engineered. But given the choice, I would not have bought it after watching it slowing sag away...

Not what you expect.
The basket is very pretty BUT, as you can tell by the pictures, you get the basket and the fixer, only no fixer. Extremely disappointing s it's the only way to attach the basket to the bike. Amazon, being the one to fulfill this order was nice enough to discount enough for me to actually purchase the fixer separately from somewhere else so I do thank them for that. As for the sturdiness, easy to install and light weight, I honestly can't say as I am still waiting for the fixer, Topeak is pretty good quality all around though.

Horrible, no es como en la descripción, solo te entregan la canasta sin el fixer y la pedí 3 veces y las 3 veces llegó sin el fixer, pésimo servicio y pésimo Amazon que no se fija lo que vende y al final no resuelven nada

Excelentes materiales, el soporte un poco flojo al momento del montaje, se desliza con algo de peso. Se corrige fácilmente con una tira de goma, así mejore el agarre.
