Great deal
Works good to retap the rusted thread with oil. Cuts right thru.

Good so far.
So far, I've only used it to clean up some existing threads that were pretty messed up. The tap is still sharp as ever, but the real test is cutting new threads, but that's for another day. This is a replacement for one I broke from a good quality set I have. The broken tap was not abused but I neglected to use oil while tapping when it broke. Over the years I have come to believe in using oil for drilling and tapping in metal. I can tell you it does make a difference; you'll get cleaner work results and your tools will last longer.

Worked as intended
This tap came quickly and was the right size. I had no issues using it to chase threads that were goobered up with paint. Haven't used it to actually cut threads but from the looks of it I assume it will work.

Used to clean out VERY rusty threads on truck. Did 6 holes and all cut easily.
This is a quality tap, not a cheap China one. Cuts easily (Just remember to clean out the hole frequently and keep it lubed) It also has the size stamped onto it, not just "laser etched" that will wear off quickly. I used this to clean out the threads on the factory welded nuts to mount a hitch to my Honda Ridgeline (and It has been through 7 years of winters in the NorthEast before my purchase). In case for some crazy reason you are doing the same thing the sizes needed are: M12 x 1.25 and M10 x 1.25 - 2007 Honda Ridgeline. I cut 6 holes with the M12 x 1.25 and the last hole was just as easy as the first one. Take care of them, and use them properly an they work well. Hope this helps someone, if so, please rate it "Helpful"!

Package says, "made in Japan", 12mmx1.25mm tap inside package is stamped INDIA
Misleading manufacturing data - Japan is what the package says, item inside says INDIA. India manufacturing quality not typically the same as Japan.

Great product. Aligns to threads well, doesn't break even with a lot of pressure and torque.
I used this tap to "chase" the threads on my 2007 Odyssey's frame receiver hitch mounting points. I put a liberal amount of super lube on the heavily rusted threads and some on the tap, which I simply put in my DeWalt cordless drill chuch and spun on low speed. This tap powered through the completely rusted threads without stopping or breaking and self aligned with the existing vague remaining threads without a problem. Great product did what I needed it to do, I only had one shot at this and it performed very well on all 4 mounting points.

I did not use this. I had wanted a ...
I did not use this. I had wanted a 12 X 1.25 tap. I had selected it in the dropdown, but somehow in the purchase process it reverted to the top item in the list. Once I saw that on the shipping notification I then ordered the correct one and it did what I needed. I expect that both sizes should work the same.

Works fine for light use
I needed to buy a single tap because my el-cheapo PRC tap-and-die set didn't come with this particular size (M 10 x 1.25). Taps are simple tools that have always been over-priced. Thank heaven, then, for the availability of cheap Chinese tools for hobbyists who don't need to use them on a daily basis. (And thank Amazon for Amazon Prime, a service that makes getting an obscure item like this to my door quick and inexpensive.) I'm not sure how this tool would fare in a production setting. But for my simple threading job--and any similar ones I can imagine--this tap works just fine.
