Ease of Use
I prefer this style/plastic verses the metal set screw style. Finger tight is usually just fine. I used a pliers once - and you already know what I did - stripped the threads. With a nice, snug, finger tight, I've not had a problem. Maybe I'm more gentle with the force I use when working with these. I don't think i do. I'm not sure what I think i must do differently, But these work much better for me, personally. The metal drill stops that use an allen set screw, have always come loose on me, and of course, at the WORST time!

Good for quick depth stop on drill press
These pair of drill stops are made of plastic and felt heap on hands. But, they are useful when you need a quick set-up of drill depth on the drill press for multiple holes. Definitely, it is easier and faster than setting up 2 stop-nuts on my drill press depth adjustment. Just make sure it was tightened to the drill bit.

A novel collar set that can be useful ...
The collars seem to work OK and I wouldn't discourage anyone from purchasing them. There's just the two of them but I still find myself fumbling around some with the different sized bits trying to figure out which collar should be used. And I find that the reason for that is that I want to use the smaller one if possible ... reason being is that both collars are fairly long (The larger one is approximately 1.75 inches long, the smaller about 1-1/8 inch long). And usable bit length once in the drill as compared to collar length can be an issue with what's left to drill with. The collar length can leave you with not all that much of exposed bit to drill with (even with my explanation once you try it you might end up being a bit surprised by the limitation). The picture that shows the collars on bits ... those are fairly long drill bits ... very possibly longer than the one's you may have. However if you have long bits then that may not pose a problem for you. However. I found it posing a problem for me more often than I would have thought. Anyway, just FYI. One good thing though: Most stop collar sets are metal with screws. And I've yet to find one that didn't disappoint me one way or another. The good thing about this set is that they won't damage your bits. That I definitely like. In that way they're unique based on my experience.

Beats using the allen wrench
These are very handy. I have three sets. I did notice that the large one slipped on the drill bit when I had been drilling a lot of dowel holes, but I didn't tighten it as firmly as I should have. The good part is they don't mar the wood surface, are better than a block of wood, especially in tight places. But keep them tight. If you are doing production work, drilling lots and lots of holes, you might want a metal stop, but even in that instance, these should work well. My only concern, hence four instead of 5 stars, was how much I could tighten the stop without breaking it. It seems very sturdy, though. And the price is excellent. I bought more than one set because when doweling, you need to readjust the stop when going to a thinner piece of wood. By having two, you can have the longer setting for the edge dowels, and the shorter setting on a second drill bit for the surface dowels. That said, these are very easy to set and don't require any tools, so you don't need to search for a small screwdriver or Allen wrench. I recommend it.

Flimsy construction
Small drill bit does not stay in place.

Handy and Easy to Use
I'm glad I found these. So far I've used these on both large and small bits without any problems with them slipping. The only issue I had was an issue with drill bit length in a deeper hole. Because of the length of these and the average length of a drill bit you might run into a problem being able to drill all the way through thick stock. I was able to squeeze out a little more length by seating the drill bit less deep in the chuck. Fortunately there was still enough bit in the chuck to get a good bite. They are handy, quick to adjust, but may be limiting if you have to drill a deep hole.

Does not fit stated sizes
The product claims it will fit bits up to 1/2 inch. But in my experience, anything larger than 5/16 basically does not fit. You can sort of jam it on a 3/8th bit, but it's too tight to adjust with any sort of precision and taking it off is a huge pain.

Useful but wish they were easier to get to stay in place
They seem to work well enough if installed properly, but they have to be tightened so much to stay in place that it feels like they might break. If you do not tighten them heavily, they can easily walk along the bit, rendering them useless. Basically, if you can twist the bit relative to the stop, the stop will not hold its place on the bit, and you can easily drill deeper than you want. Perhaps a rubbery liner would help some. These seem cheap enough that they would be almost disposable anyway, and if adding that would help, even if it did affect service life, I think it would be worthwhile.

Good for price but could be better
They work, but don't think they will last a long time you can just fell it. You also really have to tighten them or they will slide on the drill bit. They are good for the price but would rather spend more if I could find a better design, like it's just two you can quickly swap around one any size bit compared to the metal clamp ones that are specifically sized.

Very useful
These are much better than the steel ones and stay in place on the drill bit instead of slip and sliding.

Bueno
Sirven muy bien para un taladro, pero con un roto martillo los golpeteos hacen que se mueva de su posición original aun cuando esté muy bien apretado, dejando de ser funcional.
