Just what I was looking for.
This style of watch is hard to find any more. It was the right one and it wirkes great. I like to have the digital read out as well as the analog clock. I also get the stop watch and other fun gadgets with it. I like the metal wrist band as it doen't grab the hair on my wrist. It is not overly huge when you wear it and looks nice and clean. I will definetely buy again if I destroy or loose this one.

Very nice
Very attractive alternative to the tried and true rectangular version. Just the right size with a much heavier band. I will buy another one in four or five years when the band breaks as they always do. Highly recommended !!

Easy to use - once it's set up
A good successor of the trusty Casio Forester; combining a digital calendar/clock with an analogue clock face; as well as a multitude of digital features like multiple alarms; stopwatch etc. I did find the setup a bit cumbersome and I'm not sure I'll figure out all the available features. But it does what I want it to do, which is the clock face time combined with the digital calendar, available lighted face and alarm. I wouldn't have chosen the velcro strap over a traditional buckle style, but I'm getting used to it. I think it's really great for the price and if it really last ten years I'll be truly impressed.

I feel it is superior to similar casual Casios in the $20-$40 price range.
So I looked at watches for a year buying this one on Amazon. I had like three or four different wishlists goin, trying to narrow down my choices. I chose Casio because I have found their watches to be very durable, super long-lasting, and very reasonably priced. I also wanted something that looked somewhat dressy, so I finally settled on an analog face with steel band. I also like seeing the exact date on my watches, so I decided on the Ana/Digi configuration. I was considering others that display the date as a one digit number because they looked to be more attractive than this one online. However, upon realizing that I should really shop for a watch in person rather than online, I came upon all the models I was considering at Wal-Mart. The Casios that were priced at $30-$50 (the ones that looked nicer online) looked awful in person! They were really shiny, flimsy, and looked cheap, fake. Also, I don't like the one rolling digit date display on those because you have to keep on top of whether it is synchronized with the accurate number of days in the current month and make adjustments accordingly. To my absolute surprise, this model Casio looked very good in person! Amazon pics and reviews led me to believe that they looked like plastic and easily scratched. I have not found either of these to be true. It actually looks more expensive and impressive than the more expensive casios and there is a 10 year warranty on the battery. I'm gonna still have this $19 watch when I'm 50!? LOL I would have preferred the model with the blue face, but the majority of reviews said it looked more purple, and I mean - God forbid.. The face is a little larger than I would like it to be, but I have very small wrists, so most faces appear relatively large. Naturally, because of my small wrists, I had to have the stainless steel band adjusted. I learned that Wal-Mart actually offers to provide this service free of charge even if the watch is purchased elsewhere! I'm definitely not trying to advocate for Wal-Mart here, as they are an evil source of great power and wealth, but unfortunately I every penny counts on my budget. When I put the watch on, it fit perfectly. It had good weight, felt smooth, and wasn't pinching my arm hair, as most stainless steel links tend to do. I have no problem seeing the time in total darkness thanks to the glow in the dark hands in conjunction with the somewhat dim orange light. However, I cannot see the date in the dark. Oh well. I think I can wait to get into a lighted situation in order to know the date, and I usually know the date, if I care, by the time it gets dark each day, so I'll be ok. Many rwviews complain about the weak light. It's not too bad! Also, one must realize that in order to guarantee the preservation of battery power for a whole friggin' decade, one must make such small compromises. Although I do get it. I get addicted to those nice bright Indiglo-style watch lights and want to press it all the time! My guess is that those lights draw a good amount of power, because any watch I've owned with that loses the light power or all power in a relatively short amount of time compared to those without the glowing face feature. I imagine the LED technology that's coming out now might be able to remedy this problem. Anyway, it's a great daily watch. It's perfectly casual, comfortable, functional, and somewhat simple. I only set up the date display, the digital time (which toggles with the date display), and the analog time by adjusting the hands. There are many other features I will likely never use. There is a stopwatch, a timer, world time, daylight savings, and a bank where names and phone numbers can be stored. This is an old model. Most of us don't ever remember phone numbers anymore because we have our cell phones, and let's be honest, who wants to fiddle around with entering someone's name in their watch after just meeting them? Can you imagine? But I like that about Casio. If it aint broke, they don't change it! That's why we know we can count on the quality and durability of their products.

simple rugged watch
I have worn Timex watches exclusively for the last 20 years. I like the simplicity and durability of them, however, the elastic metal band on my last one failed where it attaches to the watch case in such a way that it had two pointy metal peaks that made it unwearable. I was going to simply replace the band, but it was cheaper to buy a new watch. I looked for something equivalent to what I had but styles have changed and I couldn't find something appealing that matched my pricepoint. Until I found this Casio watch. I debated over the newer plastic-silicone bands, but worried about durability. I am an electrician, and get into some rough environments at work, dirt, dust, construction debris and such. Getting sweaty and dirty wearing a watch can make them smell bad over time(like the stretchy metal band on my old Timex). This Casio has a nice metal band, it seems very durable as well as being easy to close and comfortable to wear. The face and body of the watch is low profile enough to not get in the way at work or wearing work gloves. It is attractive enough to wear as an everyday watch too. The reviews I read prior to purchase were pretty much accurate, the manual is a bit daunting, but it is in several languages so it only requires reading part of it. I had a bit of a challenge getting it set, but eventually I got it right. The light feature flat out is not as good as the Indiglo feature of the Timex watches, but I don't rely on that as much as I thought I would. The glow in the dark feature this watch has is also rather weak, it does work, but has no duration. The telememo feature it has is something I didn't realize it has, but I can't see how it will benefit me. I simply needed a watch that is accurate, easy to read, easy to wear, comfortable, and durable. This watch checks those boxes for me. Overall, this is a budget friendly watch that is well made and easy to wear. For me, the style and durability made it the right choice.

Do Not Touch
Please do not buy this watch unless your wrist is exactly the right size as taking out links is almost impossible. I have all the right tools & the strength required to remove a link has bent 2 screwdrivers & if you can get the link out far enough you have to use pliers which scratches the link. Awful design. Gave up & threw away.

A poor watch from Casio
Here's my review after 12 months. This watch is a pain. Looks lovely. Don't be deceived. The analogue chip gains about a minute every two months. To reset it, you cannot wind it back a minute or two. Oh, no. To wind it back two minutes, you have wait while the motor runs forward for 11 hours 59 minutes and 58 seconds. Extremely annoying. That surely defeats the point of a 10 year battery doesn't it, as that consumes a lot juice? Completely lazy technical stuff from Casio. The digital chip which runs World Time, is worse, that gains almost double the above amount. But if you are prepared to sit through a session with lots of buttons to push, you can reset it. But why should you need to? I know it's cheap and looks nice, but all that glitters is not gold. After one year of living with it, I would seriously suggest putting your money towards something better, with maybe a radio controlled movement. This Casio watch now sits in a drawer, unloved and not worn at all. I have now taken to wearing my 1978 Rotary quartz analogue watch again. That only gains 1 minute 20 seconds. A YEAR!

This is a very light smart watch. Well built and feels strong
This is a very light smart watch. Well built and feels strong. the strap is nylon and leather and feels very strong. The watch has a light when pressed it lights at 3, 9, and 12 O'clock dials, also the hands glow in the dark so it is very easy to tell the time in the dark. it has a digital and analogue time keeping plus the usual month, day and year (up to 2099). Other features include a telephone memo, where you can store a name and a telephone number. It is very handy to keep favourite numbers before taking out your smart phone etc to look it up or when your phone battery runs out :-) It also features world clock, 30 cities and 29 time zones, very handy if you travel as you can keep the analogue (or digital) to one zone and the other to another zone. Plus 3 independent alarms, I haven't used these yet. It also feature a count down timer, handy when cooking or timing anything, plus a stopwatch. the time is accurate to within +- 30 seconds a month, and the battery lasts for 10 years (less if you keep using the illumination). Water resistance up to 50M so it is good for swimming, rain, splashing and car washing. All in all, a good watch for the price. Worth it.

Very light, but nice and durable
I bought this watch to take on holiday as I wanted a reliable, light and waterproof replacement for my normal watch. I'm very happy with it in all of those respects. I like the slightly unusual colour (when else have you seen a beige watch?!) although that has led to a problem for me personally. My eyesight isn't that great and in not so good light I can't read the time without my specs. To be honest I'd have been better off choosing a watch with a colour where the hands stood out more from the face - but that's my problem, (but worth bearing in mind if you haven't got 20:20 vision and want to be able to check the time without putting on your glasses). The backlight is bright enough and the luminous hands are visible in pitch black for several minutes. As far as the digital display is concerned, I just leave it set on the date and can't imagine using the data bank thingie. The alarm is about the usual volume from a watch (ie I wouldn't trust it to wake me up)! I like the canvas strap - it should hopefully last longer than the plastic ones from my earlier cheapo Casio watches. I found it easy to set the time and date. Setting the time on the hands (ie analogue time): it's easy enough to understand how to do it, but it's a bit long winded. Moving the time back an hour (eg when travelling back from our holiday) meant advancing the hands forward 11 hours, which was a bit of a pain as they didn't move that quickly. Advance 1 minute too far and you've got to go all the way round again. (Ah well, it helped pass some of the time on the flight home)! Half a star taken off for the above inconvenience and another half off for the price, which having handled and used the watch for a few months, I believe is at least £5 too steep. If the watch is still working after ten years then I'll come back on and give it the 5th star! Apart from my personal issue with the colour, I do recommend this watch.

Excellent (for the price)
This is a cheap watch make no mistake. It looks a little cheap and feels cheap. It is very light - no way is the case stainless steel except for the back. The bit holding the strap pins is plastic/resin not metal. The "crystal" may be glass or plastic - hard to tell - it's supposed to be mineral glass whatever that means, but I don't expect it to be scratchproof based on other reviews and my previous experience with Casio watches. So why 4 stars? Because it's very comfortable to wear, the black face version is very easy to read, it has many functions, it has 10 year battery life (none of my previous watches has lasted anywhere near 10 years before going wrong, so I've decided it's not worth paying more for a solar powered watch), I expect it to be accurate and reliable and because it was cheap I can wear it all the time without worrying about it. It also looks alright if you don't look too closely. It has some operational quirks - you have to set the digital time, the analogue time and the world time independently of each other. It has no second hand (which I actually like), but of course you can see seconds on the digital display if you want. It has a perpetual calendar (that's the main reason I bought an ana-digi watch), and a usable light. It also has various alarms, timers, stopwatches, world time function etc. which I'll probably never use. If it lasts 10 years it'll be a miracle, but if it goes for 3 or 4 it's a bargain anyway.
