Runs small

I love the look of this helmet and the matte gray color option that is somewhat hard to find with other brands. The helmet is a lot more comfortable than my old Smith Persist. It feels a little tight in the front when you first put it on, but after riding about 5-10 min you forget you even have it on. As far as sizing, it does run smaller than other standard helmet sizes. I’d recommend getting your usual size and one size up as the helmet does run pretty small. Luckily my usual M still fit, just a little more snug than others. If you are on the upper end of the standard M sizing, I’d recommend a L.

Great helmet, bad sticker

I love this helmet, it feels very well made. I have a big head and I bought a Large which feels just right and doesn’t make my head look like a mushroom. The only issue I have is that this helmet has a yellow sticker on the shell that says “mips” and it is a sucker to get off. I tried everything and ended up sort of scratching the helmet but it’s barely visible. Oakley, please us a more non-evasive sticker. I almost bought a specialized propero 3 which was 140$ and I am so glad I went with Oakley, the quality was just as good not sure about the weight difference. Also, the boa adjuster uses a string like band that tightens around your skull, it feels like a literal string with some type of rubber it kinda feels like it could easily be cut but then again I’m not sure what this “string” is made of. Overall good helmet with good shape especially for a big head like myself and it has MIPS

Stop looking elsewhere and pull the trigger on the Aro3

Most lightweight, comfortable helmet I’ve ever used. I’ve spent money on Kask, Specialized, Poc etc and was suspiciousness and apprehensive buying a helmet from a sun glass company. Then I saw a sales video on there philosophy behind design and manufacturing of the helmet. My other helmets now collect dust, the Oakley Aro 3 is very comfortable, airy, and looks nice. Theres also maybe 1/4 of the padding that other helmets deploy for comfort and this was concerning to me however I now find it an awesome idea. There’s a nicely padded larger forehead sweat band and a a very small U shaped crown pad. The helmet is still incredibly comfortable as well as light and the big benefit to two pads is cleaning. My other helmets have 8-10 pads that over time disintegrate whilst removing and cleaning multiple times. I replaced my Kask pads and they charged me 30 freaking dollars for replacements. The Oakley comes with one replacement pad for the forehead. If I were going to change anything on this as well as any helmet I’d add some type of screen in the air slots to stop insects (BEEs) from penetrating. I’ve been stung twice and it’s not fun.

Best Helmut ever!

Amazing cooling effect. Just tilt your head and feel the breeze . Oversized slots do the trick. Removable head band a big plus. Extremely comfortable to wear. Excellent hot weather helmut. No need for a head wrap anymore.

Most comfortable helmet you won’t know is there.

Great fitting helmet, when you ratchet the BOA knob it snugs all the way around nice and secure, there’s no more hot spots on your head from a one way fastener. When it’s on I don’t look like a giant mushroom, most of the time I don’t even know it’s there, and it doesn’t interfere with my glasses. Well designed and cools as it was designed to do. Best helmet I own. Comes with a cool bag and a spare brow pad too. Well done!

I see you Oakley...... ;)

Not just sunglasses. I see you Oakley..... I really like the helmet so far. Very lightweight and the adjustable wheel works better than two previous helmets. No padding inside other than the forehead but with the design and weight it is amazingly comfortable. The design allows for great airflow. My only issue is I will it was a little narrower. Sits a little wide on my head. Even with that it looks great so my nitpicking will not affect my 5 star review. It’s a great MIPS helmet. Hope I never have to test it out but if I do I have faith in the helmet.

Muy comodo, pero descepcionante

El casco es muy bonito, comodo y excelentemente ventilado. Desafortunadamente falla en su punto más importante: el soporte para gafas. Probé con 5 modelos diferentes de oakley (originales), y todos fallaron en lo mismo, el ajuste no era el correcto y quedaban salidos. Me descepcionó bastante porque compré el casco justo pensando en eso, el ajuste que ofrecía para mis lentes. Pero le doy 4 estrellas porque es muy comodo y el diseño me parece muy bonito.

Excelente casco

Se siente increíble, te puedes acostar con él puesto y no sentir molestia alguna, además de que el ajuste es muy bueno. Tiene detalles que ni siquiera se mencionan, como que trae una esponja frontal de repuesto, el sistema BOA tiene altura ajustable y que las letras y el logotipo tienen una especie de reflejante, ¡Ya no tendré que pegarle cinta reflejante yo mismo! Eso sí, elijan bien la talla, yo tengo circunferencia de 57cm y el M me queda casi al límite.
