A Fine Product
This product does exactly what the description says it does. It is made of high quality polycarbonate and has a freeze/thaw cycle worthy gasket. I've used it twice so far to cool beer wort in 5 gallon home brew kits. It took the temperature of the wort from 170ºF to 85ºF in about 40 minutes (I also placed my brew kettle in a sink full of cold water at the same time - this only covers the lower half of the kettle). After it thaws I sterilize it then put it into a sterile bag before freezing. A word of warning: With the handle attached to it, it measures 23 inches tall, not 15 inches as stated. What that means to me is that it won't fit vertically in between the (non-adjustable) shelves of my freezer (BTW, it won't vertically fit in almost any conventional household freezer) without leaning it to one side. That, in turn, means that the water isn't level at the top and, in order to avoid having the water freeze while in contact with the rubber gasket (which, I believe, will lead to gasket damage), it needs to be filled with less than the maximum amount of water - meaning it won't be quite as effective at cooling as it could be. A word of caution: 128 oz. (1 gallon) of water weighs 8 pounds and the paddle weighs just hair over a pound and while most don't have much trouble lifting 10 pounds above their heads (which is close to the range-of-motion required to place the paddle in a kettle standing on an average counter), it is something to consider before purchase. One other odd thing is that it bulges outward on one side when completely frozen (even if frozen completely upright - I tried this in a chest freeze I have access to just to check) which, I believe, will stress the plastic to the point where it will crack - probably sooner than later. Still, so far, it's been a great addition to my brewing inventory. I have no doubt that it was designed for commercial use and will work very well in that application.

Helps to cool giant batch food quickly.
This giant ice pack is awesome! We make very large batches of dog food and need to cool it down fairly quickly before we can store it in the fridge. This tool is super handy to keep in the freezer and just pull it out to stir the food around and cool it.

Timesaver
This cooling paddle is great. I use it to cool down my gumbo and soups for freezer containers. With this paddle using ice and water I save about 2.5 hours process time. The paddle cools5 gallons of gumbo or soup in less than 30 minutes. This cooling paddle paid for itself on the first batch I used it on.

Chills soup effectively in conjunction with external icing around periphery of pot. Used ice cubes and water. Took 8 quarts from 154F to 41F in 40 minutes. Fat from soup may congeal on outer surface and should be scraped back into soup before refrigerating. Too long to freeze in our home freezer; mfr should include a flat screw on lid which could be used to make it more compact for freezing.

A handy item
The only thing I don’t like about this item is around the connection area is open so what ever you set it in to cool if it comes up to the very top food can get stuck in it. But it is easy to clean and handles a lot of beating since there’s no perfect home for it in my freezer.

Loved it at first but now it cracked in my soup pot and is now useless.
I loved it at first and it works well to cool coups and stews but last night it cracked with loud noise in my chicken soup as I was cooling it and now it leaks and is useless. For the cost of it I expected better. VERY disappointed.

This is huge!
I bought this for home use, as i have large stock pots, however it dwarfs them! It is ginormous! Got a real good chuckle out of it!! But it works super duper.

shattered at half capacity
I used this a few times, loved it and wanted to buy another two because I need a few until I went into my freezer and it was shattered!? It wasn't over filled or anything... ugh.

Great product
Ordered two but came separately. One came decent time but second one took very long to get. Product itself is very good quality. I am glad I purchased it since I need to cool down my ramen bone broth every day
