Good fit for 80lb lab!
We have had this harness for almost 2 years now. It quickly replaced others as our go-to. Our 80 lb lab HATES harnesses and anything restrictive. He tolerates this much better than previous ones that went over his head. It's so easy to put on. We strictly used the front clip for walking as he is prone to pulling if it's clipped onto the back clip. As for longevity, it's been almost 2 years and it's holding up great. The buckles have discolored a little, as he has swam in it quite a bit. But all straps and fabric is intact, even if showing some wear. I have had multiple compliments and other dog owners asking about it.

Fitting info.
First the Dog and her size: 2.2 yr. old Basenji/Pit mix (deep chest) female, 54.5 lbs, 26.5" chest and 17.5" neck. I ordered a Medium per the recommended measurements. When it arrived it looked to small, after adjusting I did a trial fit-to tight-adjusted again and it fit perfect. The adjustments are easy if you are in the trades otherwise you will need help. The rear adjusting buckle will tuck away into the pad so that the pad can be re-centered. I ordered a return at 50% off, there will be a lot of these available because most will not be able to properly adjust. The front legs pass through it and it buckles on top. The latch could not be any sturdier and it has a positive click sound when locked. Measure before you order, if you don't have a Sewing/Taylor style flexible measure then use a piece of string and measure the length of string with a yard stick or retractable tape measure. These run true to size - if you measured and ordered the appropriate size and it doesn't fit - It Is User Error. Works perfectly and I highly recommend. Oh and She likes it!

I loved
I loved it, it's very resistant and pretty, my dogs move a lot and they could take off their bibs, until I found this one and they don't take it off, I recommend it 100%

Fits beagle/husky mix perfectly!
My beaski has a weird chest so most walk in harnesses do not fit her. This is absolutely perfect! It’s like it was tailor-made for her! The option for back or front walking is excellent. When she’s in sniff-mode I attach the leash on her back so the leash isn’t in her way. When she switches to pull-mode, I just switch it and she’s a dream to walk! I also love it because some harnesses are almost impossible to remove because the clasps are ridiculously tight. This one is very easy to unclasp yet secure enough that I think it would be impossible for her to get out of. Thanks Carhartt! We love your products because they just work!

It'll fit a dog
Our rottie wasn't a fan of his other harness... I mean he outgrew it, so it wasn't comfortable. Inevitably, we had to get him a harness that fit him. This one does. We love the look and it seems to be fairly comfortable. The loop on the chest is fantastic. When your dog weighs as much as you... it comes in handy to help steer. Our rottie doesn't give much feedback... So as far as we can tell.... it was an acceptable purchase.

Awesome
My 45lb Portuguese Water Dog is hell on wheels when it comes to harnesses--he's broken 3 and 2 collars because SQUIRRELS. The design on this harness, with the two leash receiver thingies (sorry for the technical jargon) coming together on either side of the clip is genius. There is no strain on the clip to cause it to fail, but if it did fail, it still won't come off. The straps and canvas are well stitched and sturdy, so this thing is built to last. That being said, it did take a couple days of constant wearing to break in and loosen up a bit, and obviously, he's not gonna win any beauty contests wearing this thing, but he's already adorable, so whatever. If your dog is a crazy puller/lunger/jerk, buy this. It's great. He's not actually wearing the harness in this pic. But he is in a tree. So that's cool.

Be careful using this harness with the Carhartt Journeyman Lead w/ Trigger-Clasp
So I didn’t like this harness immediately. When I read that one reviewer’s dog could put the front piece in its mouth I thought “that’s gonna be my dog”. Sure enough, the first time he stepped into it - front piece in mouth. Immediately. Once I adjusted it, it was harder for him to reach it but he couldn’t resist trying. Now that he knows he can, he goes for it every time we step in. He’s getting over it though. I wish the top two rings on the back of the harness laid flat when not in use. He looks like he’s ready to be air-lifted to safety. I purchased this because it has two attaching options - front attaching like the easy walk and top attaching like other harnesses. The easy walk front-attaching style is the best way to walk a large breed because it encourages them not to pull by turning them around towards you. I purchased this along with the carhartt journey man lead with trigger clasp. Do NOT use this with the trigger clasp unless you are only hooking to one loop. When I attached to the front ring of this harness and the ring on his new carhartt collar using the trigger clasp lead, it immediately pulled apart and detached. Luckily he sat down and waited for me to leash him again. Then we tried the trigger clasp on the top two rings. Same issue. It may be a defective clasp. But with some re-engineering, I used the more traditional style carabiner clasp on the other end of the journey man lead to attach to the front ring on the harness and the ring on the collar. Then I pulled the lead thru the extra D-ring on the lead for a hand loop and used the trigger clasp on the top two loops for a second attaching point. By attaching him in two places, it created a pretty secure way of walking him and shortened the six foot lead to a more manageable length of about four feet. I hope this helps anyone who purchased these items together. Other than that, he looks great in his new harness and lots of people have stopped on the street to compliment him. When they walk up and ask what kind of dog he is I’m proud to say “he’s a pit bull”. They always reply and say “he looks so happy and friendly”. Walking bully breeds in safe, comfortable and attractive harnesses puts out such a better image than walking a pit bull in a prong collar with a chain. This harness doesn’t chafe under his armpits like the Easy Walk does, and the padding helps keep his sensitive skin from pulling or snagging on the joining rings. Having two points of control helps redirect his attention when he sees a squirrel or wants to sniff and pee on the neighbors’ landscaping. If you’re willing to play with this a bit to see how it can work for you, I think you’ll be pretty happy with it. Make sure you measure and don’t go by weight or by other sizes you’ve purchased in the past.

Seem quality, fits nicely and looks great. Wouldn't suggest if dog has heavy pulling habits.
Over all, I like this harness. It looks clean and quality, dirt and mud hasn't stuck too it much at all, and it fits nice and snug in the right areas when theirs no tension on lead. We've gotten many comments on it already and it really makes Heibai stand out and look professional. I don't love that the front chest pad slides and isn't secure, as any pulling on leash will cause the harness to slide over which defeats the purpose of the front clip and doesn't look very safe or comfortable in comparison to harnesses with secured front clips like the easy-walk harness. Personally, I believe in training your dog not to pull, so this isn't a deal breaker for me personally, it's just that the easy-walk would be better at first if you have a dog with really bad pulling habits. I'm just not sure that it could safely hold a determined and slippery dog that pulls a lot. The harness also does squeak a bit as other people have mentioned, but it's hardly noticeable over time and it doesn't bother Heibai so that's most important. Lastly, I wish the harness wasn't a "step in" harness that requires the dogs to put their feet through. An over the head option is what I prefer, but this design is still usable should you're dog be comfortable with their feet being handled, which mine is. All together the harness seems comfortable, looks quality, is fairly secure, and is pretty easy to put on. We also purchased the tradesmen leash and have really liked it paired with the harness. Heibai has gotten used to the "Step in" style and seems to enjoy wearing his new gear!

Excellent Carhartt Harnesses
These are the best harnesses my dogs have had. They step in, so no over the head problems. Really well made and tough (just like the guys...). Great for large and small dogs.

Rottweiler proof!
Sturdy. Effective and comfortable- dog doesn’t run away when it’s time to put it on. Works great as a no pull alternative Very hard to reach clasps for the dog - whose nickname is Houdini. Tried 5 other brands - and the Houdini dog won, with the exception of the Carhartt. In this case, Carhartt can say they’ve harnessed a 1 year old 120lb Rottweiler. Very, very impressed
