Works very well

I really like this coffee maker. It brews well and is super easy to clean. I can’t get the timer to work but that just might be user error.

So far so good - Makes a great cup of coffee

Great coffee maker. Brews well. Plate could be a little hotter but overall I really like it. For those of you watching your cholesterol...this coffee maker comes with a cone shaped mesh basket which means, if you grind your own beans or use an espresso blend like I do then you're getting more of the oils in your coffee/body than might be healthy. Cone shape anything is supposed to brew a more flavorful pot/cup of coffee. My previous coffee maker had a basket shaped filter housing and this Capresso DEF brews a better cup/pot of coffee. I purchased unbleached cone filters to use in place of the mesh basket BUT the paper cone filters are thicker than the paper basket filters which requires me to use more coffee and then the taste of my coffee is different. IF I just use the mesh cone filter that came with this coffee maker the coffee is soooo much better but then I run the risk of all the oils - using the paper filters means I am filtering out most of those oils WHICH you can validate by the carafe. Without the paper filters, just using the mesh filter, the glass carafe has this oily feel and look after each pot = consume more of the oils and wash after every use BUT when I use the paper filters there is little to no oily residue left behind on the glass carafe from my coffee = giving it a quick swish under hot water and it's good for a day or two. Just a little PSA because I care :) I've had this coffee maker for a few months now and while my choice to swap use of filters vs basket every couple of days is a little more hi-maintenance for me, overall I am very happy with this purchase.

Capresso 12 cup coffee maker- Brews well but carafe seems smaller than average

My husband and I have used the 12 cup Capresso coffee maker for several weeks since our last coffee maker suddenly stopped working. The carafe on this coffee maker reads that it is 12-cups as our last was but does not serve nearly the same amount of coffee. It does make a good brew and is easy to program. However, I do wish it had a larger carafe. It is attractive in appearance. I think it is worth considering for those who do not mind missing approximately 4-6 ounces of coffee.

Great little coffee maker with only the options I need.

Had to replace a 12c capresso machine that took a really long time to make coffee.. tried de-liming it but didn't not help. Didn't need a 12c but found i hard to find one that wasn't so got this 12cupper. LIKES: 1) option to make the for smaller amounts (like it strong), 2) uses the cone filters not basket (the filter it comes with leaves lots of residue of grounds and the water pull thru too fast. 3) smaller footprint on the counter even tho it is also a 12c 4) PRICE was awesome. 5) AND it doesn't make the loud beeping sound that was hard on the ears and wakes up the house. ONLY negative thing I noticed is that the light of the clock does not stay on for more than a minute but since I don't auto brew or leave it on at all, that is a small matter for me. Hope it lasts! Will revise review if it proves to not last. Had it about a week or so.

Almost perfect

The one-button for on and off is great...the coffee brewed is as good as the coffee one buys, the machine does a flawless job...BUT...the filter holder has a spring loaded shut-off to allow for the carafe to be removed when the brewing cycle is still on... that's when a small rubber washer that holds the little valve in place falls off and because it's very small, poorly designed, almost transparent, one must quickly put the carafe back in place before the kitchen counter gets inundated with hot coffee! Same old, same old...our old Capresso had the same defect, I fixed it with much time and energy expended. Trouble is, no-one at the Capresso factory ever reads or cares about any of this...

Not 12 6oz, OR 12 5oz cup coffee maker DECPTIVE

Just received this coffee maker after a fair amount of research. In the description I saw the capacity stated as 60oz. That equates to 12 5oz cups. When the world (China) switched from 6oz to 5 oz as a cup of coffee I don't know but it's all very confusing. In any event needing a maker quickly I settled on 60oz vs my previous 12 cup 72oz maker. Upon opening I thought the carafe looked rather small and did some testing. Several times I measured the capacity of the carafe and the reservoir of the maker. Bottom line: TOTAL capacity of the carafe is 56oz, Total capacity of the reservoir to the overflow is 54oz. MAX fill line of the reservoir is 52oz. 52/12 = 4.33oz cups of coffee which once you lose some water to absorption is about 4oz. DECEPTIVE any way you look at it. I called customer service twice; first time was told total was 60 oz which was above the 12-cup line. Second call was to lodge a complaint about the outright deceptive statements as to usable capacity. I would not recommend this product. Update: after using this coffee maker, by necessity, for awhile now I feel I should give it another star as it is a good coffee brewer in spite of the capacity claims. It is simple to use, can do a hot brew around 170° and the timer function works fine. If not for the other issues I'd likely have given this a 5 star rating for the overall value and performance.

Makes a GREAT pot of coffee!

I didn't realize how badly I needed a new coffee pot until I'd broken the carafe on my old one and bought this! Same coffee. Same water. DELICIOUSLY better cup. I like the gold mesh coffee filter, for the planet & my pocketbook. BUT it is tricky to empty/clean (4 ⭐️) because of the wet grounds. I haven't tried a paper filter. My cup usually has a dark layer at the bottom (i use cream) but it's eminently drinkable - not grounds! Love the "strength" button. I've used it both with and without, and both were good, but, especially since I like a little half & half, the strength button is my go-to, and it definitely makes a difference. Nice, compact, great coffee every time, 4 or 10 cups. Excellent buy!

Good coffee maker

Makes a good cup of coffee. The reusable filter is takes a little bit of effort to clean out. You can’t use finely ground coffee in the filter as It leaves a fine layer of grounds at the bottom of the pot.
