Looks and seems REAL
love the candle, it is very realistic, the movement of the flame makes it look great. I like the remote as well, I have not used the timer myself. My only issue with this candle is that it takes C batteries. I have not owned anything that took c's in years. I didnt notice that when I bought it so i wanted to share that for others. Nice product though really looks good, could see it in a window, on a fire place, in the bedroom.

Works as advertised!
I really love the look of this candle. It feels like a candle as well which is really nice. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that the remote doesn't sync up to it immediately. It takes a bit each time I try to turn it on manually. Setting it up on a timer is very easy...once it is one just choose your options and hit the number of hours you want it to stay on. I prefer to turn it on myself b/c otherwise the battery runs down faster.

Lovely!
This candle is lovely. The candle itself looks and feels like a real wax candle. The flame looks pretty realistic from a distance. I have seen electric candles with a more realistic flame. It has a remote that can be used to change the flicker and turn the inner/outer lights on/off with. And my favorite is that you can set it to turn on automatically each day. I have mine set to turn on for 6 hours every evening for the ambiance and to act as a nightlight for walking from the living room light switch to the stairway light switch after we have turned off the lights.

Love these flameless candles
This is my review of Softflame’s Flameless Candles There are a lot of “flameless” candles in the marketplace, and in my opinion, these are some of the best. These come in different diameters and heights, and I am reviewing the 3 x 9 inch (7.6 x 22.8cm) item. The candles sport a round flickering flame, are coated in real wax, come with a multi-function remote control, and require 2 C batteries that are not included. The remote allows you to turn the candle on/off, control the brightness, change/disable the flicker rate, and set a timer (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 hours). To set the timer, you turn them on, choose how long you want them to remain lit, and do that at the exact time you want them to come on every evening. For example, if you want them to come on at 5:00 every evening for 6 hours, you would set them up at 5:00, and they would come on at that same time every night for six hours, until you turn them off, or the batteries run out. Note: There is a power switch on the bottom of the candle, you will need to turn on before the remote will work. In addition, there is a plastic tab on the bottom on the remote that needs to be pulled out to activate the battery. Speaking of batteries, if you are using a fresh set of C batteries, they will stay on for up to 800 hours. Say, for example you set them up in the Autumn for 8 hours a day in the evenings. That means they would run through the Autumn/Winter holidays, and still be going strong come January… All on a single set of batteries. I have a lot of different types of flameless candles and none of them get even closes to 800 hours. I am very impressed. I think they work alone or in groupings of varying heights. Bottom Line Very realistic looking, coated in real wax, easy to operate and last a long time.

All the soothing effects of a candle with out the worries of a flame
There's something soothing about the flickering of a burning candle but you have to be concerned about falling asleep while the candle is burning and possibly getting knocked over and causing a fire. That is not a concern with this flameless candle. It provides all the soothing benefits without the worries. The candle itself runs on 2 C cell batteries (not included) and the manual says it will run about 800 hours on a set of batteries. The remote control uses a standard watch type button battery. The candle has 2 brightness and 3 flicker modes and has a setting that will provide a glow from inside the candle, just as you would get as the wick burns down into the candle. It has a 6 timer settings that will turn it off after 2,4,6,8,10, or 12 hours. I think it's a great product for people, like me, that love candles, but are not allowed to burn real candles.

Realistic looking candle
I love these candles. I have two of them 9 inch and the 7 inch. They are real wax, unscented as is my preference. They do take C batteries which I don’t typically have in the house so I had to purchase those, but they seem to last quite a long time. I have had them going every day since I got them and they haven’t dimmed at all. They are quite realistic looking in regard to the flame which does have a flickering effect. When the alkaline batters eventually give out I am going to use my rechargeables which have C adapter sleeves.

nice fake candle. looks good not quite real though
my pic shows the 3 different sizes. this one is the tallest in the pic. they look great. function nicely. but the movement on the flame itself i don't think looks realistic, it's to minimal. brightness is ok. remote leaves alot to be desired, the adjustments via the remote are 1 step only far as i can tell, no matter how many times i hit a button it only changes the option once. i also think the button functions are reversed, most remotes i have ever used the button on the right increases and left decreases. not the case here, it's reversed. havn't tryed the timer function. overall they look great. recommend - yeah, price is great and you get something that looks ok up close and awesome at a distance.

Realistic Flameless Candle
This candle is exactly as pictured. The way the flame moves and flickers makes it more realistic than other flameless candles we have. Like most, there is a simple on/off switch on the bottom. But once it’s On, you can control everything through the remote. There are two brightness levels and three flickering options. You can also set the candle to turn off automatically after several preset numbers of hours. C-cells that power the candle were not included, of course. But I like the fact that the remote did have its flat battery already installed. You just have to pull out a piece of clear plastic that preserves the charge until it reaches you.
