It's great but....

The light arrived in perfect shape, and was a breeze to install. The measurements and description of the globe are correct. My only issue is that it does not have a contemporary look. The 3 holders grabbing the globe are huge flared triangles. Had I seen actual pictures of this look, I would not have ordered it. But since I am staging for sale, I will just accept it. Don't get me wrong, the light is a good buy if you like the triangle brackets.

I just had this installed and you can see the ...

I just had this installed and you can see the bulbs sticking out. I used led's same as regular 60w. Did I use wrong size? When I sit in living room they are showing above the globe. It looks awful unless sitting at dining room table. Any help here? EDIT Apr 30--discovered that the bulb holders are moveable and just enough that I no longer can see the bulbs...there are smaller bulbs available but they do not produce enough light for me since I eat all meals there and read while eating. I changed to five stars because it does look beautiful and I do love it.

Don't follow the directions!

Loved the lights but the directions to install are terrible! unscrew the base to mount! Do not pull the wires through the center post-- you will save yourself about an hour trying to figure out how to put it all back together.

Easy to install

The fixture brightens up the kitchen and replaced an 80's gold chandelier. The bulbs do stick up a bit but not too bad

I bought two of these lovely light fixtures on Amazon. At $60 a piece they were relatively inexpensive and look fresh and lovely in my blue and white kitchen. I put LED daylight bulbs in them and the frosted glass makes my kitchen bright and sunny even at night.

Elegant Fixture

Lighting is a very personal thing. The way you decide to decorate is the expression of what you think is most suitable. In the end, its a way of expressing yourself. Given that, this particular piece was selected to complement a brushed nickle ceiling fan, and I think that it did that quite well. I had some challenges getting my head around how to install it. It has 3 arms for the dish AND a center post for the actual lights which are at the end of the post hovering over the dish. It takes 3 lights. Because of this center post and its mounting your electrical box, support in the ceiling had better be square to the ceiling. Mine wasn't but that just slowed me down as I have a reservoir of long box screws and spacers for the ubiquitous support bracket that goes across the octagon ears. You need to mess around with the depth of the post some in order for the clamping appearance nut to properly snug the dish that supports the 3 arms for the suspended dish. The dish screws into the arms with acorn nuts, so if you are doing this solo you'll use one hand on the glass dish while the other adjusts the arms and screws in the acorn nuts. The easiest thing to do in this case is to dump the hardware into the glass lighting dish and fish the hardware out as you use it. The dish is not heavy. In the end, I am happy with the result. You'll want to use 25 to 40 watt bulbs or equivalent. I think the reason for 3 is just to spread the light out even. Consider using a dimmer. I am somewhat conflicted about the price of this fixture. Prices of lighting such as this are all over the place. Home Depot sells some nice flush ceiling mount lights for less than $15 with a similar lighting dish. This cost me $80. Obviously, I made a choice and I confess I am happy with the result. In the end I am inclined to say "overpriced" but if this is what you want to express your "decorating statement" then it is to me elegant when all is said and done. Probably the selling price is nothing more than what the market will bear and as implied in the beginning, that market is fickle. The end result is that this fixture was near perfect for the "look" we wanted. Maybe thats all that matters as ideally you are only doing this once.

Poor finish quality, looks cheap

The metal parts that are supposed to be decorative finish attached to the shade are super cheap and sloppy. Not polished or finished at all. Makes me question the quality of the rest of the item. Sending back. Waste of tike and shipping resources. Amazon needs a quality standard to avoid this dollar store level crap being mixed in with other quality products.
