Great product, longevity in question...
I purchased this August, 2019. I fish mainly inshore on the Gulf Coast of Louisiana and Mississippi. So this plug experiences salt and sun. It is installed on the bow deck, horizontal surface, instead of a vertical surface. I have never lost power because of the plug or had a short in the plug or it's connections. For delivering power at 60 amps or less, this has been an effective and very cost efficient plug. The only issue I have is the flexible gray portions of the plug are beginning to fail because of sun/weather. Wire is great, connection is great but the flexible gray plastic is failing due to weathering. The troll motor is rinsed and removed after every trip and kept in the garage. It does not sit out. It only experiences weathering when it is in use. Time will tell how long those gray flexible portions hold up. Otherwise, for the cost, this is a great plug!

Decent price for good quality connectors.
The media could not be loaded. Objectively these are well made plugs but could be improved upon. For the round surface mount it’d be nice to have a better fitting screw, whether the hole that locks the plug into the mount needs to be smaller or the screw should be a size larger. It would also be nice to have a set screw on the retainer ring. I used my set to add a “”remote jump start plugin to my truck bumper. Though the caps are snug fit seem pretty water resistant, the plugs probably shouldn’t be submerged in water. But if my truck is sitting in 3’ of water for a long period of time I’ve probably got bigger problems than the plugs.

Exceptional quality and really clever design!
I added pictures of the instructions because they answered a bunch of questions I had before buying this unit, which I gambled would be what I needed, and worse case I could return it if not, for someone else, it might make their decision to purchase this easier. This is a great unit and exactly what I needed to pass the power for my trolling motor through to the inside of my 18’ Victoria 18 sailboat! Here’s what I love! - the connectors come with crimpable ends already outfitted with heat shrink - the connectors are identical and only mate one way so it makes it really hard to put the wrong end in the thru-hull connector - it comes with a thru hull fitting! - the wire gauge is thick and heavy dutt - the connectors are solid and durable - the covers are attached with cable that is threaded so it can be detached and moved around Just a really well thought out product, really well designed and I feel like it’s a bargain at the $25 price point I bought it for. The only thing I didn’t like is that they did an awful job on the product listing on Amazon explaining how this works and all the configurations possible so that I would know it’s what I needed. I also feel like it would’ve been handy to know it needs a 1.5” thru hull hole. Works fine for me, but might not for someone else who has tighter size requirements. Highly recommend this for anyone doing a project like mine to pass the power for an outboard motor into the cabin where the power is.

Great for a trolling motor
I used this to add a trolling motor on my boat and connected it with either 4 or 6 gauge wire. Works great

These are nice plugs but expensive.
This is a decent plug for high amp use. If you use the through hole mount point you need to epoxy the plug into it or it will push through. I wouldn't put a screw unless you get a small one. Too much risk of contacting the positive lead and ending up with an exposed hot point. I put this on my tractor as a point to charge through or power an electric drum pump for refueling. The additional plug sides are available but not much less expensive than just getting the whole kit.

Could be great but isn't
I thought this would work great for my project (trolling motor & battery box)...but there are issues and as a product it needs to be improved. The things I like: * 8 AWG, tinned copper marine grade, robust connector * Has caps Things I don't like: * After installation the flush mount connector tends to get pushed in and wont connect. Its suppose to snap in and be secure but its not. I ended up just wrapping the plug and socket it in some electrical tape to join them together more securely. That solved the issue in the short term but having to do that is disappointing given the robustness of the product (8 AWG tinned copper marine wire) etc.... Not to mention the price tag. * The heat shrink tubing has a hole punched in it from the crimping process. Useless. * Caps feel like they could pop off easily. I changed this from 4 stars to two stars after using the product after install. The issues I described above have caused a lot of issues for me. The connector no longer clicks into place and will just fall out. Because of the loose connection it caused my trolling motor to kick on and off several times over waves and the rapid change in torque many times snapped the motor mount which would not have happened if the connector was made correctly and the connection was solid. Nothing but problems with this connector.

Very well made
These connectors are extremely well made. The wire provided and the shrink tube crimp connections worked exactly as I'd hoped. The two connectors join easily and smoothly and can be easily separated. I think this is an outstanding connector kit. I did not make use of the mounting hardware so I cannot speak to that aspect of this product.

Well made, easy installation
Used for trolling motor setup on kayak. Easy to install but would like to see 8 gage butt connectors included.

Easy to install and connect a trolling motor
I have not used the product before. They are great and when installed easy to connect a trolling motor.

So good it's my 2nd set
I bought a set last year to wire a secondary battery in my FJ Cruiser. It worked so well that I bought a second set, this time for a solar panel charge controller to the battery so I can connect/disconnect it quickly while out camping.
