Good for burning small branches and yard debris
The metal feels somewhat thin. The bin stays together by putting hook shapes of one panel into the slots on the adjacent panel. It is a little flimsy and wobbles with a little pressure from the side. The bottom stays up with tabs that fit into slots on the bottom of the panels. The tabs could be longer to be more secure. The top fits loosely on the four panels with short tabs that fit into shallow cutouts on the top. When assembled the top is not attached this makes removing it in the middle of a burn difficult. The tabs and slots should be larger or better yet the top could be hinged. It did stay together fine when throwing in 1-2 inch diameter branches and with open slots on the sides and bottom the wood all burns down to ash. I raised the bin up on bricks in the corners to give even better air flow. The top rusted after the first use. One other customer wrote that he added hinges and a handle to the top. I will do the same. It can of course be used without the top at all if you are not burning cardboard or paper that flies up more than wood. I would buy it again. Its better than an open burn pile.

This burn container works well and the lower grating slots allows air intake thru the bottom.
The container is delivered as a "Flat Package", and must be assembled to be used. I burn brush, cardboard and yard waste every other week or so and found assembly and disassembly for each use was time consuming, (and really requires two persons as all six pieces are very sturdy, and heavy). After assembly, I improvised my unit as follows: A: Installed two, one inch long stainless steel sheet metal screws into each of the sheet metal connection point slots. If you want to disassemble the burn cage it only takes 5 minuets to remove the screws and 7 minuets to reinstall. B: Using stainless 1/4 inch Phillips head bolts, I Installed two stainless steel 3" hinges on one side of the top cover of the unit, - then lined the top piece of the Burn Cage up so that it fit correctly and drilled the other holes on one side piece for the hinges. I used stainless lock and flat washers, and double stainless nuts on each bolt to install the hinges. With this alteration you just lift the top up with the included handle and add more burnable debris. C: I had an old round bottomed grill with two wheels and two stationary feet, so I put the Burn Cage on top of the bottom part of the grill, measured where it touched at 4 locations and removed a 1" deep and 1" wide piece of the grill where the Burn Cage touched. I added 2 inches of sand into the grill bottom to give it some weight, and now can move the whole thing around by myself, (But it is a little heavy). I cover the whole portable burn system with a plastic tarp and 4 bungee cords to keep the rain off, as this will extend the usable life of the Burn Cage. I am quite pleased with the operation of my Burn Cage - and find it easy to use and move around now. Don't forget to contact your Fire Dept. to see if there are any restrictions in your location. (I must have a charged water hose and constant supervision whenever burning).

Don’t buy.
Assembly is wonky, movement after assembly is near impossible without disassembly unless you hammer stables in place. A normal nosed lighter doesn’t fit in grooves to be pulled quickly upon ignition. Upon first burn flames seem to be minimal but the cage will be deformed once the heat gets the lid. There are cheaper less dangerous, “mobile” fire pits available, save your money…

Works great.
I burn some boxes, yard waste and junk mail in this and it does a great job. I love having the top so I don’t worry as much about burning bits flying out. The only negative is that it is impossible to move when it’s assembled. As soon as you try to pull on it it comes apart and you get soot all over your hands putting it back together. One of these days I’ll drill some holes through the tabs so I can stick some cotter pins or something through there. It’s great that it comes apart very compactly for storage, but it would be nice to be able to move it without taking it apart also.

Burn Bin warped and deformed on first use
First time using and the metal deformed and warped in the heat. It is very thin steel and bottom sagged while burning debris from my yard. I would like to return but past my return window. Disappointed for the reviews said things like thick metal and very sturdy... it did burn very hot and made quick work of what was in it. I would not recommend this for a backyard fire pit as it burns the wood very quickly, as it’s designed to do. Will try to get them to replace the warped parts, maybe mine was defective metal?? Update: product was guaranteed by the manufacturer and they issued a refund through Amazon. The manufacturing rep I spoke with wasn’t even familiar with the product, apparently only available through Amazon. The metal thickness was not a defect, it just could not handle how long I was burning for. It does it’s job but it is flaking and rusting and warped. You can bend it back enough to to put it back together and it will work. Use bricks under for support is what one person said…. Preferably furnace high temp bricks

Works great
Other reviews were saying this was hard to assemble, but if you take the time to look at a picture of it and look at the pieces, it really isn't. I managed it by myself (I'm 70). I did get some help moving it out to the yard. I put some duct tape around the edges to hold it together for the move, and it was fine. It really does a great job burning all the paper I would have to shred if I had an industrial shredder.

keeps fire inside!
This is an elegantly engineered simple steel cube with a removable top. No tools required to set up or break down yet it's confidently sturdy. well designed ventilation slots on every surface. The bottom is reinforced with two ribs to support the weight of whatever is being burned. perfect size for a banker's box or two worth of paper at a time.. I put a small wood teepee underneath before I put the paper on top to ensure good ventilation and plenty of heat.. very happy with it!
