Comfortable and supportive
I purchased these compression socks for my upcoming trip to Australia that involves a 17 hour flight. I have never worn compression socks and expected to have to struggle to get them on. These socks were so easy to put on and are very comfortable. I happy I was able to find these compression socks on Amazon. They had an excellent rating.

No more jelly legs
These socks are recommended for "Economy Class Syndrome" or deep vein thrombosis when people get stuck in long flights in cramped seats with little opportunity to get up and walk around. They are available in sizes; I got large and the color I bought was grey, which is a medium cadet grey, not a charcoal grey. The ankle area has more ribbing, for extra compression. This is a nice design. I first started wearing compression socks when I had a job that required frequent overseas travel. Once, after a 10 hour flight from Frankfurt to San Francisco, I had to stand in a line 2 hours (yes, 2 hours) to get on a bus to go pick up the rental car. Ask me how happy I was about that. I nearly passed out and my legs felt like sacks of jello. They felt like jello as I deplaned and it only got worse. I stopped in a pharmacy in Europe, near where I lived and asked the pharmacist if they had anything for travel, and they had compression socks. The next trip I took was very long, but my legs felt wonderful at the end. What a difference! My doctor also WARNED me about my height and DVT (deep vein thrombosis.) I don't travel quite as much anymore, but now I wear these on long flights, and even on bus trips or car trips, any time I'm sitting too long. When I try to pick up socks like these at the local pharmacy, they are always out of my size or out of them completely. For some reason, they don't stock our local stores very well. So I order these online to get the type I want; I like black ones rather than tan, as they look nicer under my clothes if I'm wearing black shoes. These are grey, which look good with jeans or grey flannel slacks and are very helpful for travel.

Best Compression Socks for Travel
I tried compression socks, but they always form a tight, almost “tourniquet” around my knees. These socks don’t do that. They are comfortable and I feel so much better overall after flying with them on!

which means they're like "girdles for the legs"
The upper band was too tight and narrow for me because I have wide calves (they're about at wide as my lower legs are long), so I *VERY carefully* undid the stitching and can now fold it over to make the band wider. But I don't think people with normal width-to-length-sized lower legs would have much of a problem with the upper band. So, for me, these were a little bit long, BUT if they are going over people's knees or, as a couple described, up to the thigh, then people are putting them on wrong. And yes, these are SUPPORT socks, which means they're like "girdles for the legs", so of course they don't go on as easily as regular socks. There is a technique to it, which ideally *should* be learned from a health professional, or at least looked up online at a health website.

Information on how they fit.
A lot of people ask about fit, and I read reviews on many brands. I am female, 5'7", size 9 narrow shoe, and have 14.5" calves. I ordered a size M for my shoe size. These socks come up over my knee cap, which with hours on a plane would be uncomfortable. My 6'1" husband, wears a size 11 shoe, and should take a size L. But he has small calves (14"), and these socks came just under the bend of his knee for a perfect fit. Ordering compression socks by shoe size, then, is a guessing game with all of the other variables in calf size and leg length. That being said, the socks are relatively easy to put on. With a 10-15 mmhg designation (found someplace on their website), they do not bind. I am going to order a size small and see if the length will work better for me.

Tall Large Woman finds comfy
I am a tall size 16 pant woman. I have always said that you can find it on the internet for things that work. Buying mens socks is the closest I can get. I am a comfort before fashion girl so I have settled for men's socks that fit in dark colors as opposed to women's socks that fit in feminine shades. I have been searching for a sock that comes over my calf. Most hit mid calf on me and lessen the circulation and fall down. Theses socks do not. It is wonderful. My one star less is because the industry needs to wake up and adjust their sizes for taller women. I think tall skinny women get by, but could be more comfortable if their socks hit below the knee, and tall large women would just appreciate girly colored socks that fit. However until that happens I cannot says enough about the comfort, support of these. I wear them with work clogs.

Good light compression socks.
Bought a small and it runs a bit too long, but that's not a big issue. I bought different brands of compression calve sleeves and this one is a light compression socks. They are not as tight as sports compression one though. Overall, I like them and will be using them during flights and for everyday use.

Really comfortable, mild compression
My doctor recommended compression socks for health and travel, but I didn't like being gouged by orthopaedists so I've been trying Amazon. I'm a size 14 and chose XL for sizes 13.5 to 16. They don't provide as much compression as others, expected with my size on the low end of the scale, but since the compression starts mid-foot they also don't crush my toes, and the material is far more comfortable and "sock-like." I also get restless legs at night, and time will tell but so far they seem to be helping that too. I've been wearing this first pair for two full days now, and though I didn't expect to love them, I'm about to order 2 more pairs.
