Lovely and a Great Value!
This set is such a great starter set! Comes with a figure and quite a bit of furniture to get started with calico critters! My one big complaint is that the chair legs break off so easily. I reached out to the company and they basically just told me they don’t have replacement parts and to buy a new set. What?? I wasn’t asking for free replacement parts or anything. I would be happy to purchase new chairs for a few dollars, but obviously I don’t want an entire new house! So that’s several thumbs down for the company. I tried gluing them but they keep coming off. So just be aware of that if you buy this! :)

Great value, high quality critter house (Pros/Cons w/ other Cozy Cottage)
Lovely, beautiful, as detailed and high quality as we've come to expect from Calico Critters and an EXCELLENT value for the price (most other CC sets are much pricier... so this is how they hook you LOL!). I'll compare this to the other Cozy Cottage which looks very similar. In my side-by-side images, this new version is on the left and other version on the right. Comparison PROS: New one has mailbox, beautiful curved railings, an interactive stove ("water" comes out of faucet, and a pie "bakes" in the oven by flipping over when inserted), it comes with a few extra accessories, and has a more practical ladder. Comparison CONS: Windows on the new one are plain, without shutters (there are SUPER cool interactive windows on the older one); the furniture in the new one is thinner, cheaper-looking, less detailed, & a bit too "pinkish" compared to the older one (and bed has no mattress/pillow). I don't like the fork with the handle in the new one, but kids may enjoy that feature. NEUTRAL differences: New one has red walls on second floor compared to beige; door styles are different; color of the brown trim/railings/doors is slightly lighter on new house Both houses have the exact same Freya Chocolate bunny sister with identical outfits, and the base mold for both nearly identical. Both are VERY durable, excellent quality, and will last forever. Obviously I have both houses, and I like the subtle differences, so we can have both in our display. I like that all the Red Roof themed homes are inter-connectible and match each other. Personally I think both houses are equally wonderful, and the downgrades on the new house are outweighed by its upgrades (the mailbox and railings, specifically).

Perfect for Smaller homes!
I bought this when there was a $6 off coupon because wow - its such a good deal! I'm 32 and played with Calico Critters as a child and the quality of this is just as perfect as the Calico House from 1997 that I still have. I bought this for my daughter as a Christmas gift and I now she's going to be so excited to have this. The smaller cottage is perfect for smaller homes that don't have a ton of space or the perfect travel option! I can already see this going on car trips to Grandpa's house! Shipping was fast and I'm happy to see Calico Critters are available on Amazon for future purchases too.

A Go-To Gift!
My daughter and I BOTH love Calico Critters/Sylvanian Families! She has built up quite the "Critter World" and playing with it together--I do the lion's share of the set-up work/decorating to keep it more in tune with my personal (grown-up) interests--gives us lots of mutually enjoyable bonding time. This particular house was purchased as an additional level for my daughter's large Red Roof Country Cottage, and we love that it gave her more rooms to play in without taking up more precious tabletop real estate. Additionally, this starter home with the included bunny Critter and furniture has become a go-to birthday gift for my daughter's good friends who love her Calico Critters and don't have any of their own. I generally watch for it to go on sale for $23.99 and stash one for a gift, which is more reasonable in our area/social circle for a present. It's an ideal first piece! If a child really loves it, it meshes well with other homes and items, and if Calico Critters don't become a favorite, this doesn't represent a large investment. As with all Calico Critter/Sylvanian Families items, I am happy with the quality. Because they can get spendy, I particularly expect these toys to offer longevity and so far they really do! We play gently, but a LOT, and move the homes around often. Everything is holding up beautifully!

Takes some work to snap parts in placd
Apart from needing someone with strong fingers to snap the parts in place, this Calico Critters house is a great gift for a grandchild. She already has the main house, and this Christmas (shhhh!) Santa is bringing her two of these small cottages which can be connected to each side of her house as added wings. These are needed, as she has a main family of cats living there and they're adding mice and rabbit guests and need more rooms. The structures are sound and well-made and the furnishings are delightful. Younger children need supervision as some of the accessories, like food items and eating utensils, are very tiny and easily dropped and lost. (Unless you happen to have a cat, in which case they instantly become cat toys and can be found under the refrigerator.) I bought two of these cottages which arrived together, well-packed and in perfect shape. Happy to add to this cute home, which has a parent-pleasing advantage in that it can be closed up when not being played with. The wings fold in and make a dollhouse complete on all sides, compact and looking nice wherever it has been put.

Good value for the price
I purchased this toy to add to my own collection of toddler toys for visiting grandchildren. It’s a delightful set for innocent, imaginative, device free play. It arrived in perfect condition and in appropriate time due to the pandemic. I have no doubt that the children will enjoy it immensely.
