My wife said seven back surgeries over the past 13 or 14 years. Pretty much I've packed her in these every night after I roll them up and pillow cases for insulation. I don't think we've missed many nights and all that time. These are the brand that I look for

Very big and will easily cover large areas like a whole leg for the best pain relief. Love this brand my favorite for ice packs because they aren’t hard when frozen!

The best ever for migraines

Old model was more flexible. I have several of these, the very best for migraines on the planet. But the older model of this 10 x 15 gel pad had a more user friendly more flexible plastic cover, which also didn't extend out past the gel area almost another 1/2" +. This new one makes edges and corners that can be sharp. Pro's: Best gel on the market for holding cold, using 2 of these side by side in a pillow case to completely envelope my head and eyes during a migraine. Within 10-15 minutes, my particular migraines usually subside. Can also use a belt to surround head to help push the pillow case-covered pads closer to the painful areas.

Love them

I saw these gel packs on an Airbnb I stayed in CO springs and I had to get them. I got 2 and they are the best. I suffer from chronic back pain and these packs are heaven sent I wish I would have know about these when I had my 1st back surgery, but for my second back surgery I'll be ready with these. They stay cold for a very very long time and are so comfortably soft and big. I'll probably buy more before my next surgery

5 stars for use as COLD pack. 3 stars for use as HOT pack.

I have one of these for use as a COLD pack and love it so decided to buy a second for HOT pack. Not so good for HOT pack. It is big and in the microwave (I have a decent size micro) you have to fold it a bit to heat it. I tried to smooth out the gel inside before putting it in micro. Due to the fact its big, it is hard to get the heat even. When you are in pain (think herniated disc-ouch!), you are not in the mood to keep taking it out and massaging it every 20 seconds so there are not hot spots that are in the "I'm going to burn you" range. After several attempts, I now have two COLD packs and have reverted back to the heating pad for now. (JUST A NOTE: I have smaller HEAT packs and have no trouble with even heat with them).

Superb when it's hot weather

We've got a few of these now. They're great for injuries and back pain and are used regularly for this through the year. But hot summer nights? These are the best! Pop a frozen one under the pillow 10 minutes before bed; at bedtime, flip the pillow over - oooh, so nice and cold! Leave the gel pack under your pillow and if you wake up warm, just flip your pillow over again for a refreshing cool down. Best hot weather hack ever.

Convenient Hot/Cold Gel Pack

I learned recently that I have mild scoliosis. Basically if you are looking at my spine from the back it curves a little bit at some places. One of those places is my mid back. Sometimes this area gets very inflamed and I have spasms of pain that are quite difficult to deal with sometimes. I was recommended a hot pack to be applied to my back as that will help with the recovery process. I looked on here for quite a while. There are the heating pads that can be plugged into the wall and then they give off a steady supply of heat. I liked the idea but it was also a bit dangerous and a lot of precautions must be followed to use it safely. Then there are the old school heat packs like these. I chose to go with this as it costs a bit less and is safer in my opinion as well. It arrived quickly and am glad it did. The therapy gel pack is a nice size 10x15 inches. it easily covered my back area. To use this and and heat it up you have to put it in the microwave. Heat it up for 1 minute. If you need it to be warmer then heat it up in 30 second chunks. There is a warning that says that if you heat it up for more than 2 minutes straight there is a risk of leakage of the gel. I applied the gel pack to my back and it felt quite nice. I have taken a star off because of the heat distribution and how long the heat lasts. Even after you microwave this for a little while it still feels like there are some spots that are warmer than others. Also, it does feel like the heat lasts for a good 5-7 minutes and then it dissipates quite quickly. All in all it is a good purchase and I would recommend it to others.

I love this ice pack

I love this ice pack. It is quite large and fits right across my neck and both shoulders so I'm not trying to balance two different ice packs at the same time. When frozen, it is easy to smooth out so does not get all lumpy and hard to lay on. I bought 2 and will replace them with the same one if ever necessary. Caldera Bulk Therapy Gel Pack 10x15 inch

This gel pack is excellent I did order two right off the get go and was very surprised at how long they stay icy cold.I am wheelchair bound and I sit on one all day long to stop getting heat blisters. I have had many different brands but this one stays cold for up to six hours.A perfect size to sit on. However I had one start leaking out the blue gel after only the first use what a mess! However a large ziplock was used, and it is much cleaner now.and still useable . I highly recommend the Caldera Gel Pack. You can't go wrong especially at the price!
