Well built minus a few negatives
This case was intended to become an AV switch I am currently working on. It's a lot more shallow than you think so if your project requires a case with more depth for a 1U case, consider something larger. It's still useable for most lite rack mount needs but there's some notes. Pros: 1. Constructed with thick rigid materials 2. Reasonable size and quality for price 3. Comes with assembly and rack mount hardware (top cover still sold separately) Cons: 1. Came in with heavy scratches on interior 2. Interior chassis is 5mm shorter than the 1u standard. 3mm short if you use a 2mm thick cover. Keep the cons in mind when purchasing this. I plan on painting over the case, so scratches will not be an issue. I did have to reevaluate heights and clearances on connectors and a display because of the height difference with the chassis compared to the face plate. If you plan on cramming this with a lot of project or prototype tech, consider their 2U option instead. As for the missing top cover, I plan on using plexiglass but they do offer a metal cover as an add on option.

Sturdy Enclosure, Rough around the Edges
High quality aluminum enclosure! Exactly what I was looking for. If you are needing a lid, it's not included, but you can buy one separately. Look up part number "c-14441" to get a lid to match, if you need it. You might want to take a little time to file the edges they are fairly sharp, but the enclosure itself is really sturdy for the price.

Together rack case for signal-level projects
With the top piece, CH-14441, makes a very "together" rack mount project for line level audio or other "signal" type electronics. Would be even better if the front panel were brushed with clearcoat, to be less prone to showing blemishes. And given the basic construction, could be less expensive. Still, compared to other similar things available in small quantities, this is the winner.

Great product but missing part.
Everything looked really clean and the part fitment was great (for prototyping) however it arrived missing a nut for one of the faceplate mounting bolts. Otherwise very happy.

Good for prototyping
given, that it fits into a 1U server rack space, the unit itself could be higher, maybe not the full 1.75", but certainly more than what it is now. I find it a bit expensive for it just being two pieces of folded aluminium. Good for prototyping, but not for a production run.
