Very good as magnetic mounts, and this is my second, I now have two of them on my roof. UPDATE 1, Update 2.
This magnet mount has been holding my Laird duel band antenna for a long time with no problem. The SWR on the antenna is very good, and when I want to hide it, I just pull it off and drop it inside the cars rear hatch. I liked it enough to buy another, this one was the second one I bought. I had bought one other on Amazon, but it did not have enough holding area to hold my antenna firmly. This one has plenty of holding power. Just be sure to clean your cars surface, and wax the spot where you will stick the magnet mount, if you trap any dirt under it, it will mess up the paint over time. This is the same for all magnet mounts. If I can find a way to safely take my roof liner apart, I would mount the antenna in the metal. That would be the best way to install a mobile antenna that is permanent. Magnet mounts are great for travel, and rental car installations. You can get power from a cigarette lighter plug for low, and even medium power, most will not handle high power, and will either blow a fuse, or heat up with prolonged use. This is only for rental cars, for your own car, get your power from the battery, and be sure to fuse the connection. Every good ham knows this, so this information if for everybody else. UPDATE: My antenna coax got ripped when a safe was loaded into my vehicle. I went to repair it by taking the old coax and getting new coax to use it its place. I cut a hole in the white tape bottom cover and saw two rusted bolts. I did get it apart, but one bolt broke and the entire inside area that it all mounted to was a bucket of rust. The moral of this story, is f you buy this mount, take the bottom white plastic tape like bottom, and cut the center inch or inch and a half, you can feel it. Remove it and make sure it all looks ok, then fill it with silicon so water can't get into it. Then make sure you have a good seal around the bottom. I'm going say that you get what you pay for, and the best way to mount NMO will always be to cut a hole in the roof. Second update: I took the entire thing apart, and bought new coax, and replaced the rusty screws and rusty steel plate with all stainless steel parts. The housing is aluminum, so i light saned it and gave it a coat of satin rustoleum so it now looks new again. The stainless steel screws, are just the threaded part with no head, so I bought two 10x32 stainless steel screws and cut them to the proper length, then cut a notch in the top for a screw driver. You have to thread the stainless screws into the top section, then solder in your new coax to a brass connector that goes over the stainless studs, then two stainless nuts tighten that down to the top section. Then the base section has my new stainless steel plate with the holes drilled into it to match what came out of the antenna. That gets tightened to the top section with two stainless nyloc nuts. lastly, the magnet gets epoxied to the plate, then a cover of some sort gets over that, and lastly the rubber boot goes on last. I would like to replace the rubber bottom part that touches my paint, it is a little on the dry side. All in all, the antenna mount is now bomb proof, and should hold up for 20 more years with no real problem. Do yourself a favor and take your apart and do the same, because it will be pile of rust if you leave it out in the rain.

Description confusing but top grade mount
This is actually a Browning Browning WSPBR 1035 3 5/8 NMO Magnetic Mount. The label is wrong and a bit confusing as Browning/Tram make both 3 1/4" and 3 5/8" mounts of which the latter is stronger. They also make even larger mounts. Just don't mount a huge whip or very heavy antenna on this. This has 100 pounds straight pull strength. So the title is a bit confusing and wrong. This is an exceptional quality NMO mount which includes a rubber boot on the bottom so it won't scratch or rust. Just make sure the surface you mount it on is PERFECTLY flat and clean first. The cable is perfect too as it is longer than most at 17' and not RG58 U which is stiff single strand conductor found on cheap or non-movable mounts but RG58 A/U which is a stranded conductor which makes it flexible so won't break after a few bends. The PL259 connector is good quality with a long rubber boot so it won't bend at the connector too. All in all the best Magnetic NMO mount I have seen. Buy a Rain Cap so you can unscrew your antenna and have your mount protected when you drive through car washes, drive thrus and parking garages and you are set.

Good NMO mount
I ordered this mag mount in conjunction with the Browning UHF 1/4 wave CB antenna so when necessary, I can switch between 2m/40 and 11m without having antennas all over a Cherokee Thraihawk that wasn't really designed for antenna mounts. Presently, as I'm awaiting my NMO 1/4 wave antenna, I have an NMO to 1/4" converter and I'm running a 2' Firestik on a 4" heavy duty spring. I feel the magnet is strong enough to hold this to the roof and after using copper antiseize on a ll connection, I'm getting a 1 SWR on CH20. I think it'll do. Update: Held at 65. Came off at 70. Not real strong.

Holds my Browning BR-180 Perfectly
Not wanting to drill any holes in my car a magnet mount is the best option. My 2M/70cm BR-180 is a 5/8 wave antenna that is 37 inches tall with a center radiator and no spring. It is on the taller side. The magnet mount holds it securely to the trunk at 80mph and 50+ crosswinds winds. Doesn't scratch the paint either. Great buy!

strong magnet+rubber base=a great antenna setup
It looks small in the picture but it's alot bigger than expected. It has a firm rubber bottom so it doesn't mark up any car roofs when attached. The magnet is very strong, even with a 50" antenna on it blowing around at 75mph. Great for a quick setup. I will buy again! Thanks! UPDATE: I just tested this magnet with a 50" wip at 110mph...it holds on great and doesn't even move. The 50" wip just bends a little but in full blast at 110mph it didn't move a bit! I am amazed at the strength of this magnet. I thought it would fall over at 60...but 110mph?? I give this the thumbs up! I wish amazon had a 6th star because I would have put it as that!

Seems pretty good to me
I have not had much opportunity to put the mag-mount to work as it was just a temporary-use item till I installed a "real" NMO mount in my car. With that said, it was delivered promptly and the quality seems pretty good. There is always room for improvement which left me teetering on the edge of rating this a 4 instead of a 5. I went with the 5 for now. After some time goes by, I will get a better feel for the mag-mount and if it so warrants...I will change my rating.

Cheap for a reason, but it does work.
Mount/antenna needs a good ground plane to work best - the rubber boot is great for your truck's exterior, but hurts RF performance. Poor grounding under the antenna/NMO mount, on the cable entry into the magnet base. I was able to improve that with copper tape. Also had a poor connection on the PL259 end; cut and reterminated that (which I was going to do anyways) and fixed the problem. If you don't have an antenna analyzer and want something that works out-of-the-box, i'd look for something else.

Works great and holds very well at 100 MPH
Have it with a 19" antenna on the roof of my (small) car. Car is black, this is black, antenna is black - everything is perfect Has a nice SWR in 144 band - around 1.5 It holds at 100+ MPH and tight turns (on private roads .... dunno about public roads..... it may not hold there ;)) I am satisfied so far.

Holds well even on the freeway.
The rubber boot protects the paint. My truck has a small indented channel on the roof I didn't notice and wondered why the mount was not holding. Moved it off the channel onto a flat surface and it holds a Comet SBB 224 VHF/UHF up to 120km/h . Would buy again.
