Generator fixed the day before hurricane Dorian approached

It was a week before hurricane Dorian was about to hit the East coast of Florida when I went to test the generator. I turned the fuel valve to the On position and gas started to drip out. I ordered the part and it arrived at Amazon at 11pm on the Friday night. Saturday came and throughout the day.. no delivery. I finally got a notification stating that the part was delayed Sept 1st - Sept 3rd.. Sunday came and went. On Monday morning I tried to locate the fuel valve locally, but no luck. So, I went to my local automotive store and bought gasket repair material and I was able to "fix" the original valve with no leaks. Well... about an hour after that, I got a notification from Amazon that the package was going to be delivered! I got it about 2 hours later. I went ahead an installed the new one, changed the generator oil and it started on the first pull. It's nerve wracking enough to go though a Cat 4/5 hurricane but it would have been even worse without some sort of generator power.

Just Like the Original

Shipped and arrived promptly. Needed this part to replace a fuel tank valve on a John Deere power generator that had sat for a few years and clogged up. Simply unscrew old one, screw in new one, re-attach hoses and done. Will order again if needed (but hopefully won't need to).

When ordering make a note of outlet direction.

I ordered this shut off valve because the old valves metal weakened, and the handle broke off. The new valve has very thin material in the handle and I worry it may suffer the same failure. Time will tell. When ordering your replacement valve make sure you order the correct valve outlet orientation. As seen in the first photograph I ordered mine incorrectly but was lucky enough that the handle is still accessible on the new install, as seen in the second photo. For now the generator is up and running, and ready for the next power outage.

Fits SnowTek 24" snowblower

Fit well for a replacement on a ~2010-2012 SnoTek Ariens 24" snowblower. This item does not come with a screen to filter out the fuel, make sure to keep the old one. You may need some Teflon tape to secure it in place. Unfortunately the original knob on the SnoTek will not fit this once in place... But at least I have a functioning and fitted on/off valve.

I was really worried about this. I have a Simoniz gas washer that had a leaky petcock valve, and this was the EXACT part I needed to replace it. Thanks a million. Good part, so I'm a happy camper

No screen filter provided

Works good except there is no screen filter provided and you can not screw the original screen filter On to this unit. There are no threads to screw into. Otherwise... great!
