Pretty good, but consider it’s use
I like the height of this chair, it’s perfect for my work bench in my leather shop. The seat is very comfortable and keeps its shape fairly well. My only complaint is they only last about a year and a half before the back is falling off and cannot be screwed in any more. Don’t get me wrong, this is the second one, exactly like this, that I bought from this company. I enjoyed it until it just need to be replaced. I don’t know how much y’all will use yours, but if you use it a lot, just keep in mind it’ll wear out after 18 months or so….but you’ll love it until it does!

Decent for the money
I've had this chair for just under a year and it's been pretty good considering the relatively low price tag. I work from home and generally sit in this chair about 30-40 hours per week. I've had the retighten a few screws here and there, but overall it's held up fine to daily use by a 170 lb adult. Now that I've used it for a year the padding in the seat has worn down quite a bit and I'm finding the chair increasingly uncomfortable and beginning the process of shopping for a new chair or some kind of cushion to get some more life out of this one. If you're looking for a decent (not great) chair on a budget, this is a solid option.

I'm 6' 3" and not using it at a desk
I'm using the stool in front of a classroom without a table or podium in front of me. I get up frequently to use a whiteboard, so this stool is perfect for me. It's way better than having to settle down into and rise up again from a normal chair every couple of minutes. I'm 6' 3" and from the descriptions I wasn't sure whether the seat would be high enough for my purpose. As it turns out I don't even need it as high as it can go. I like to have the ball of my foot on the floor instead of on the foot ring, so that's the setting I use. For this review I raised the seat as high as it would go and moved my rear all the way against the back rest. I have long legs and yet my heels were 7" above the floor. At the lowest setting (I don't remove the foot ring) and sitting all the way back in the chair my heels still don't quite reach the floor. The back rest mount is slotted, so you can adjust it forward and backward like a typical desk chair. The arm rests are slotted also but I'd guess they only move about 1/2" inward and outward. I have them expanded as wide as they go and at their narrowest they are still 17 3/4" apart. The chair isn't intended for anyone over 250 pounds, so I'm guessing almost anyone could comfortably fit between the arm rests. I've never written a review before and I'm only taking the time because because I was grateful to the people who wrote about this stool before me. None of the local stores had this stool and I wouldn't have known what to expect without the reviews. In my case the shipping cost was 37% of the price of the chair (I got it for the smoking deal of sixty-three right around Christmas of 2011), so obviously it wouldn't be worth returning if I didn't like it. That's why the reviews were so helpful for me. The reviewer who came closest to my use for the stool was a teacher who was using it behind a podium and it sounded like it would be fine for me, too. Some of the reviews kind of lowered my expectations of the quality, so maybe that's one reason why I'm so happy with it. The plastic armwrests do have some natural flex to them but they seem solid enough. I wouldn't want them to be so rigid that they would be susceptible to snapping off, so I'm fine with them. The cushions are firm, so maybe that's why someone said they wouldn't want to sit in it all day long. Well, I'm in and out of the chair and I don't think I would even have thought about the cushions if someone hadn't mentioned them. The foot ring is 12 1/4" above the floor with the casters on. The casters are 2 3/8" high. Fully assembled the top of the seat is from 25" to 32". The backrest height ends up from 42 3/8" to 47 1/4". Once you sit on the chair one time all the parts nest into each other pretty solidly... I don't think it would be easy to take apart for transporting it. If you need to transport it in a car then keep in mind that across the feet it's about 24" and the shortest height is 42 3/8". If you had to remove the seat, it's only held by four screws. With the seat off and the gas spring all the way down the pedestal assembly is about 23" high. It's difficult to roll the chair if you are sitting it it on residential carpet but it rolls easily on a hard floor. One of the good things about the armrests is that they make it possible to easily reach back for the chair and sit in it without needing to break eye contact with the audience. I highly recommend the stool for anyone who likes to sit while making presentations in front of an audience. I'm writing this review while sitting in a normal desk chair raised as high as it will go and the seat is only 19" above the floor. I've been in audiences where the teacher sat in a normal chair and it's always a challenge to see them if others are sitting in front of you. At its highest setting this stool will raise your head 12" higher than a regular chair and I think audiences will appreciate that.

Well built
Sturdy, easy to assemble and comfortable. I need it in the kitchen because I can't stand for very long. Perfect height to reach stove and counters and I just roll where I need to be.

Very comfortable for playing guitar
I use this item every day for guitar playing. Its sturdy and VERY comfortable, with the foot ring positioned just right for correct guitar positioning. My husband put it together in about 10 mintues. If you are a musician, this is the "stool" for you.

A chair is a chair
I use a standing desk while working from home, but I wanted to find a tall chair for when I'm working on artwork and other detail-oriented projects at my workstation. This one's pretty basic. It was easy to assemble, though beware, the instructions include every version of the chair—if for example you bought the version without arms like I did, don't freak out when the directions are telling you how to install the arms that were obviously missing from your package. It's not the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in, but it gets the job done. The surface of my desk is about 45" off the floor, so even at its max height (seat at ~31"), this chair is still a tad shorter than I'd like, but a seat cushion gives me a bit of a boost (and adds comfort). It's probably not the greatest chair if you actually need to sit in it all day, but I think it'll end up working perfectly for what I need it for.

Pretty In Line with It's Cost
This chair is exactly what you'd expect it to be. It works, but it's not the most sturdy, supportive, or quality feeling. It os the height that I need it to be and the casters work pretty well. If you want something a little bit more professional or something that's probably going to last a little bit longer, spend the extra money. But for someone like me who seems to find chairs that have pistons that are faulty all the time, keep recycling them with chairs like this.

Decent chair, but you get what you pay for
Lasted about 2 years of fairly decent use. Lately it likes to drop down on its own, slowly. Guess I have to buy another one or put some kind of spacer on the ram so it stays up. Seems the valve has gone bad.

Ergonomic chair indeed
Easy to assemble as I was able to put everything together in 10mins. This chair goes quite high, has a very cushioned seat and great back support. Overall, I'm quite content with the quality of this chair and how it has helped me relieve my back pain. I only wish it came with arms as it could provide more comfort and stability when sitting.

Good product
Easy to assemble and sturdy. Only annoyance was that it was shipped by Canada Post and by the time I got to the door they were driving away leaving a tag on the door saying I had to pick up my chair from the post office but not till the next afternoon. I am a single senior and this was awkward to load and carry. Going forward if my order comes up “delivery by Canada Post” instead of a courier I will cancel the order.

Note: You will need a screwdriver but working great as expected so far
What can I say about this? I needed an office chair for my sit-stand desk so I bought this as the reviews were more than 4 stars at the time. I have owned it for about 2 weeks now. It was easy to assemble, rolls, swivels, and adjusts height smoothly. I have not had any issues so far. **Just noting that you will need a screw driver as there is no tool provided (unlike Ikea stuff). I already have a screwdriver so it was not a problem for me but just mentioning here in case people are wondering.

Comfortable, But...
The chair is super comfortable, but it is stuck in the highest position which is the position I would use it most in. Sucks that the lever doesn't work so the chair can go up and down.

better than expected!
This was my first time trying out Amazon Basic products. Couldn't be happier. True to description, much less expensive than others I'd looked at from stores. Comfortable. Minimal adjustments but as described. Quality seems good so far. Also, no styrofoam used in packaging!! And minimal plastic. Still wrapped and delivered safely but so happy not dealing with messy awful styrofoam pieces.
