A Good First Try: 10lbs of tacticool in a 5lb bag.
There are a lot of innovative features of this pack that make it a good first try but ultimately it's a miss if you want to actually carry and USE this every day. It's too small for concealed carry and only can really carry your phone, keys, wallet, chapstick, lighter, and a socp dagger or other knife. Even then, it's heavy and crowded. It's ok for the gym, beach or to get through TSA (no knives obv) but not several hour carry or on a 10 mile hike. It works best when it's NOT on your waist but I like that it can be worn over the shoulder or on the waist. There are actually a ton of different ways to carry this or attach it to something else. I like the benchmade socp dagger integration with the laser cut pals hypalon and the ability to deploy the dagger quickly when the sheath is mounted correctly. I like the dedicated phone pouch so that knives, keys, etc aren't co-located but the fold out flap board doesn't really work very well - you need at least two hands to use the cinches and nobody is going to use two hands, they're going to use one to unzip the pocket and take the phone out instead. The clear phone camera feature is useless and cringeworthy and makes me think of some neighborhood watch karen. The bottom zipout SSE dump pouch is neat in theory but it takes up space in a crowded main pocket and when deployed isnt really that large or useful its just ugly and awkward. I'd have rather seen this on the end as a vertical water bottle pouch that can be rolled up OR used as a catchall pouch. The fat metal clips that let you attach it to your belt or possibly a sternum strap are neat in theory but can dig into you because this thing is heavy heavy heavy lots of layers and materials - and if you remove them the waist strap doesn't stay in place. I really wish the sides of this bag had the triangular wing gussets, especially due to the weight of it. The included roll-of-quarters sleeve is well done. The materials and construction are satisfactory but dyneema, xpac, vx21 materials are lighter and stronger and about the same cost these days for a more basic low profile pouch/pack. Check on the site that rhymes with Betsy if you dont believe me. The waist strap is acceptable but I wish it was seat belt material for smoothness/comfort and strength vs rougher webbing. The side release buckle is acceptable, wish it was a magnetic fidlock buckle that can be easily connected or disco'd one handed. The organization of this bag is just confusing. There is such small space to access anything in the main pouch with this bag on you. You can't get to the zippers very well which is a shame because those zippered pockets are seethru and pretty nice. The inner dump pouch eats up the limited main pouch space as I said earlier. Theres a reason nobody posts photos of the interior of this with them wearing it. In conclusion, I feel like Vertx said, "let's make a tacticool micro fanny pack" for secret spy squirrels and they put some good ideas together like the socp dagger integration and the little roll of quarters sleeve but the person who checked off on this design never wore a sling or fanny pack a day in their life. It's too small to carry a CCW and too heavy and crowded to take advantage of organization and the myriad ways you can carry/attach this. I would rather use the mystery ranch wingman pocket, a micro chest rig with CCS pouch from Spiritus or an Original Kit Bag - Snubby size from Hill People Gear. Just the right size, more versatile, lighter, better colors, no goofy phone pouch.

Durable little bag.
Fits everything that I need in a pinch while keeping the weight down. Phone, ear pods, charging cables, flashlight, knife, keys, passport. I can also carry my cc in it if I wanted too.

This is actually a purse.
Sling bag? This is a purse. Own it.

Good but not perfect
This bag is very well thought out with non firearm defense in mind. The dagger access is genius as is the improvised slap jack coin purse. The parts I felt could be improved upon are the phone pocket doesn't fit my s21 ultra with UAG case. The expandable storage could be better served with its own separate zippered compartment. As it took up a bit more room I felt was needed. Like I said, good but not perfect.

Waste of money
I love Vertx, but they didn’t even consider a phone case in the design. It’s really heavy and bulky for it’s size. I’ll stick with my REI pouch instead.
