Amazon packing and transportation is NOT adequate for this item.

I use these plates for 12 years now, they are beautiful, elegant and sturdy. I have only a few broken for all those years and it was when in the sink something heavy was dropped on top. Unfortunately Amazon doesn't wrap them and transport them properly as a glass item. I wanted to order some more recently and the set arrived with one broken in the middle of the stack. Amazon was kind and fast as always in replacing the set but the second one arrived even more damaged. Please, Amazon, put some signs on the box that this is FRAGILE. Bubble wrap will not do anything if the box is dropped, slammed or something heavy is dropped on top. Or just put the stack in styrofoam...

These wear like iron!

We have had a large set of these dishes for almost 7 years. They are sturdy, practically unbreakable, and lightweight. Very occasionally my husband will break one, but they can take some knocks. Very pleased with these dishes and so glad they arent made in china.

Great Dishes, Great Price

Bought these dishes based on the reviews and I'm pretty happy with them. I, too, have a set of Simple Lines dinnerware and have been looking for matching dessert dishes at a reasonable price. Corelle makes a similar plate that is smaller, and would have been my preference, but they are very pricey. At half the price for 6 dishes (instead of 4), these will do the job. Just slightly heavier than the Corelle plates, but a good match. They aren't the exact same material and are a tiny bit shinier. I used one today in the microwave - it did get a little hot, but cooled very quickly. These are perfect for sandwiches, salads, small meals and dessert. I'm sure I will use them daily. Thanks, Bormioli! Additional comment, Februrary 2016. Just wanted to add that I've been using these plates now for over a year and I love them. None have chipped or broken; they are dishwasher safe, and a perfect size for almost everything. I use them every day and barely use my other plates at all.

Good enough for now

I'm not in a place where I'd like to invest a lot in dinnerware. Cheap sets usually come with coffee mugs and I have too many of those anyway, so I was looking for a la carte dinnerware and found the Bormioli Rocco brand. It's nice that you can buy what you need ad hoc at a reasonable price, and I am confident that the line will stick around until such a time when I do wish to invest in nicer dinnerware. The plates are ceramic and relatively sturdy, but easily breakable (I've already broken two). I previously owned a set ceramic Target-brand plates that I never broke but left in New York when I last moved. These are thinner and lighter which is a plus but also less durable as a result. Even so, if you, like me, are looking to build just a portion of your dinnerware, you can't go wrong with these.

Wonderful plates- perfect

I've had very good luck with this brand on Amazon. I've ordered several things, and they've never arrived broken (bowls, glasses, plates) I ordered two sets of these, because we had the large deep bowls, and I use them constantly, and I wanted a matching dinner plate. I will use these as chargers for the gigantic Bormioli soup/pasta bowls, but we will eat on them as well. I have found this glasswear to be amazingly sturdy- I've had countless dinners and dinner parties using my glass pasta bowls, and never chipped any. I only just received these, but they are lovely, and have already pleased me enormously by getting here in one piece. I will update my review after I have used them for a while- but I can't imagine, after unpacking and washing them, that I will be displeased.

Excellent plates!

These were almost exactly what I was looking for, for some reason so difficult to find in the US! You can either find flat plates or large bowls, not a lot of these. I was very glad to find these to be of great quality for daily use. No stains or chips in almost a year and I use them frequently, washing in the dishwasher. I love its texture both inside (milky smooth) and outside (non-slip). They're slightly thicker than Corelle's. Perfect size for almost everything I eat. I don't know how much soup or cereal you plan on consuming because I got this mainly for soup and dishes with a lot of liquid (look into Turkish cuisine) which it holds very well. (Maybe you need to rethink your portion sizes if you think this is too small... It's actually bigger than regular-size Turkish plates)

excellent design & functionality

Another reviewer said that it reminded them of classic corelle ware. I took a look at corelle and for me these plates were different enough (in a positive way). I think it is very functional and well designed plate. They are also light plates which is a big plus for us. I am wondering how strong these plates are and how they would hold up to an accidental drop but so far, after several a year or so, no issues. One minus was I saw very small dips, hard to notice, in the middle of plates so I ordered two sets of plates and returned the plates that were less flat in the middle. Plates do not stack 100% inline with each other. This was not an issue for us.

Perfect size

Perfect portion for child and adults who don't need big servings... love the scallop edge as it provides for some of the messier recipes for kids to keep in the dish!

La etiqueta del producto sobra

El producto está bien, pero cada plato viene con la etiqueta / pegatina puesta en la parte superior del plato, la parte que se usa, donde va la comida. Y es bastante complicado quitarla. Incluso después de quitarla queda pegamento. Meterlo en el lavavajillas, por supuesto, no elimina el pegamento. Hay que estudiar una carrera de química para saber qué productos usar para quitarlo. Además de frotar mucho. Si eres de los que condimentan con pegamento a sus comidas es una buena compra.

Hondos ,hermosos ,y tienen una forma que impiden que la comida nunca pueda desbordar el plato la mejor compra en vajillas se se pueda hacer un lujo .aguantan todo microondas muy buenos .

Necesitaba unos platos blancos, sin detalles para mejor limpieza y económicos y estos platos cumplen estos requisitos.Eso sí , compré dos bloques de 6 cada uno y en uno de ellos me llegó un plato roto y en el otro sólo había 5 en lugar de 6. Llamé a Amazón por tfno y muy diligéntemente me reembolsaron el importe de esos 2 platos, lo preferí a iniciar el proceso de devolverlos y comprarlos de nuevo. !Muy bien por Amazon!
