This is a fast water boiler wth a great design.
I have several Bodum coffee/tea products: A Santos, vacuum coffee maker, an Assam tea press. Both bought years ago and still working. When looking for a water boiler (hot pot) to make coffee and tea at my work desk, I looked at many choices and then decided on a Bodum Bistro Gooseneck Electric Water Kettle. This heats water surprisingly fast. I used filtered water (so as not to create a mineral buildup, and then plunged the little glowing blue press button and within a minute, a sizzling sound, like a choir of singing angels waiting for their tea, came from the pot. It clicked off soon after, automatically leaving perfect coffee or tea temperature water. The pot is made of stainless steel so it does get warm-- use the handle. I got the matte black version which is lovely and very sculptural. I would not think twice about having this in the public area of a cool minimalist or modernist house or office. The design is super. The 32 ounce size is not super large, and holds about 4 cups of water. It seems so well made, as long as an elephant does not step on it, I am sure to have this for the rest of my life.

Good bang for your buck starter kettle.
Have it in the office for making tea/coffee. Here is the summary: Likes: 1. The all matt black finish. (Long term review pending for longevity of the the finish). It's very subtle and blends into pretty much any type of aesthetic. 2. Boils pretty fast. Without a couple of minutes you'll have water that melts the flesh of your enemies. Although I do not recommend melting flesh of your enemies, I think it's against the Geneva convention. 3. The branding is subtle so it's not screaming for attention like your least favorite child. 4. The switch is transparent and the blue led indicates operation. Don't touch the body of the kettle when its lit. 5. It holds enough water to caffeinate 4 people. Dislikes: 1. It doesn't have any variables temp settings. (But you get what you pay for, it's cheaper than those models). 2. The matt finish does attract a bit of prints and dust. 3. The base feels a bit cheap and plasticy unlike the the ones with a more premium finish (not a deal breaker for me personally). 4. Just like the variable temp settings, it does not have any temperature indicator. When the blue led light by the switch goes out you know the water is ready. Summary: Looks good makes hot water good for regular people. Not for caffine extremists or coffee Karens that demand the perfect temperature for every drop.

i really like this kettle esp for the gooseneck and doing coffee pour overs. it does get hot to the touch but otherwise great function

Works great for me
Used to use a regular electric tea kettle. The goose neck makes things much easier. The Bodum one is a little less expensive and works fine for my usage.

Clean look, works well!
I got this for my boyfriend so he could make the perfect pour over. This kettle always sits out on our counter because it's so sharp looking, we love the matte black. It heats up quickly and easily, obvious when it's heating thanks to the blue light on the switch. We use this for every coffee and tea. He liked the gift so much that he purchased the same one for his little sister starting college so she can make coffee in her dorm.

Teapot Perfection
This pours beautifully, perfect stream for pour over and french press. Heats up quickly. Please make sure to only fill to the max marker that's inside the pot. Great design and style, looks lovely on the counter.

Great kettle!
A month in and we are loving this kettle! It's quiet, heats up quickly and looks great on the counter! There were no weird smells as mentioned in other reviews. I descale it once a week by boiling a little vinegar water in it and then use the water to shine the outside once it cools down. No issues with build up so far.

Solid Single Temp Kettle
I wanted a gooseneck kettle for pour over coffee and this one does the job. Noting to complain about and it looks pretty nice too. Only complaint is because it's matte black, it's going to show fingerprints and dirt easily but that just aesthetic.

Easy to use
I'm in love with it. Exactly as described in ad. It's slick and functions well. It spills a little when pouring, but not if you are careful. I recommend it.
