Great product
I live in Hawaii where it is sunny most days. I found I had to add quite a bit of water to my pool due to evaporation at least once a week, sometimes more in the summer. Since installation of the solar blanket, I haven’t had to add water to the pool yet (it’s been over a month) and had to lower the pool level when we had several days of heavy rain. It was super easy to install and easy to cut to shape (mine is a kidney shaped pool). If you have a rectangular shape pool, it’ll be even easier! The blanket also stopped the dead leaves and debris from my trees from going into the pool. It does warm up the water (my pool is not heated), which is a bonus for me. So if you like your water cool, you will need to remove the cover a couple of days before using to cool it down. Overall, this product works great for reducing the amount of evaporation from the pool and helping to keep the pool cleaner. I highly recommend it.

Saves water, but hassle to put on and remove.
Item works well as far as saving water. But it is work to put on and remove from your pool. Plus, have to remove it more often than planned. It increases the water temperature 5 to 7 degrees. Summers in Texas can be hot. Pool water temperature normally gets as high as 95 degrees. Well with the cover it was getting to102. It felt like swimming in a hot tub. Would not recommend if you use your pool often.

Well worth the money. You gotta buy this. Doesn't last 5 years though.
So worth the money. My pool consistently stay in the high 80s-low 90s without using the heater for anything other than for the hot tub. This does cause more pool maintenance as everything likes the higher temps but it's worth it (and you can always regulate the temp by not putting the cover on). Also, the cover helps reduce evaporation, and so reduces water costs as well. This cover will shrink a lot. I cut it very long, let it shrink several inches all around, then re-cut it to just barely small enough. A year later and there's a 2 inch gap all around the cover. Not horrible but not as covered up as I'd like. This will pay for itself in a month or two of running your pool's heater. Update (Feb 2016): This cover is already falling apart, it doesn't look like a trash bag on the side of the road yet, but decent number of the 'packing bubbles' have popped and I skimmed them out of the water and just recently when I rolled it up I pulled it (too hard apparently) and ripped it. I'll see how long it will last until it's more trouble than it's worth. Maybe it will last an entire year? 5-year warranty? Let's see how to cash in on that. That said, I'd still buy another one unless I can find one that will definitely last more than 1 year. The money that I saved not running the heater just this one year easily would have paid for several of these. I never once actually heated the pool. The only time we even run the heater is for the hot tub, and we still had to take the cover off during the summer several times because the pool was too hot. And when we did you could easily see the difference in how quickly the water would evaporate without the cover. I reduced a star because it's only lasted 1 (2 tops) of its supposed 5 years.

For the price and performance, can't beat it!
So, for about $100.. for the first time in the 4 summers I've owned my pool it's warm enough to go in, anytime I want. This last weekend the pool was probably close to 90 degrees (it never crossed about 80-82 without the cover) and we're still in June. I may need to leave it off this week as it almost works too well. Last month I was in the pool a couple of times and it was likely 80+. I live in Burbank, CA and this year it's been between 70-80 most days in May and it's getting even warmer. Without the cover, during the peak summer months (where its 95+ every day) it would hit 82.. but even a few weeks on either side of that, it was cold enough to make my nieces and nephews complain they didn't want to go in, and that's a bummer! I got the 18x36 cut, my pool is about 18x32. I trimmed it myself with scissors (and I actually cut it a couple inches too short, seems like it may have shrunk a bit) so be sure to leave an extra 6" or so around the sides for a good month before trimming it to your final size. I think when I first cut it, I had left it out for a couple days it was really flat. After that, taking it on and off you get air bubbles etc and that tends to pull it in a bit, so leave some extra space around the edges. My pool guy makes me take it off each week so that the chemicals don't dissolve away all the bubbles on the water side, he also says they'll clog up the pool pump. But, it's easy enough, I do it by myself most days, it is much easier with 2 people though. It's kind of a pain yes to put it on and off, and it dumps some dirty water and the leaves sit on top and spill into the pool when you take it off, but it's worth the extra effort. I just pull it and leave it half folded, half crumpled up while swimming, and then drag it back over the top when done. If you need a few extra degrees, this thing will definitely do the trick. It also keeps the pool from losing as much water. It does seem to affect my pool cleaner that tries to move around under the cover, but gets stuck often (it did without the cover also) and last couple of weeks there's been a few green spots that the pool guy has cleaned up, but never before had any so again probably due to the covering of the water 6 1/2 days of the week, but seems simple enough to adjust the chem levels a bit. It's been on the pool for about 3 months now, and it seems to be holding up well. Likely will last at least a few years. Recommended for those that want a quick and dirty way to heat the pool without costing you a boatload!

You'd be lucky to get 2 years
Like it works and very well. But the 7 years warranty is pretty much unless it is Very Limited. I've owned 2 of these most recent purchased in March 2021. Use from late March to Late June and again in late Sept to early Nov. Store dry and in mostly dark. If I shock the pool the cover comes off. So the March 2021 buy has been used about 9months total. It is falling apart, it is not delaminating or coming apart at seams (those are the warranty items). Warranty is pretty close to a scam. If I recall the first on lasted about 2.5 seasons. I have owned a couple other brands. Heavier mil seems to last longer and cost more. My guess is buying any solar cover is a bit of a toss up as far as brand. You just need to realize that 7years would be a miracle. Feel good if 2 full seasons. Sadly i would probably but another one.

Not really working for me
Usually this cover retails for 264$. In spring and at the final of summer, the price drops to 50%. Bought it for 130CAD. Arrived in one day. I have a small rectangular pool, 10 by 20 feet, so I had to cut it. That was easily done, with a regular pair of scissors. Once installed, it stayed in place about one hour before starting to drift. A combination of wind and pool jet made the cover to move to the second half of the pool. The cover is too thin and has no resistance in its plane. I tried many solutions to no luck until I thought to anchor the cover above the pool jet. That solve it and even if we had two days of strong winds, the cover did not budge. For the dimensions of my pool, I found I am losing 2 Celsius degrees every night. Without the cover, the temperature drops with the same amount. These days we are having 12 deg at night and 24 deg during the day with a lot of sun. The pool is 10 hours in full sun and it's semi burried. So I will not loose more than 2 degrees during the night or gain more than 2-3 during the day. For the moment (10 days of using), nothing changed. The cover stayed on the pool all this time in full contact with the water. So...no, it does not really work for me. I will give it another months and if it's not keeping the temperature during the night at least, I will throw it away. It's not elegant to have a pool cover if it does not work at a minimum. Will edit my review in a month.. EDIT AFTER 4 YEARS: It was a good cover. It did its job ok, slowly increasing the temperature and keeping it there. However, it only worked for 3 years. At the end of 2022, the plastic was so abused by the sun that the cover broke at the smallest pull from the water. When I finally got read of it, it was broken in more than 20 different pieces. Being so large and having cut it when bought, I still have those pieces that I kept in my garage. Those are like new. Never exposed to sun, wind and water. But the actual cover, that I used for three years, dismantled by itself. 5 years guarantee? Yeah, right.

Good value for the money but...
Boy, was this hard to unroll...However, after that struggle, the cover was easy to cut to the shape of our pool and did its job well. The thing I was most impressed with was how well this slowed down water absorption by the sun! Didn't warm up the pool's temp but didn't drop either, so a win in my mind! Unfortunately, our heater cacked out early winter so didn't have a chance to test out temp retention over this winter but it's been great keeping the foliage out!

Great buy
Thick enough to keep heat in, bugs and leaves off. Thin enough that we could trim it to size and roll it easily. We put ours on a roller, so we can roll it on and off the pool with ease.

Not so good
I used this cover in 2014 and this summer it is already going bad. It ripped and the bubbles on the bottom started peeling off. Not the quality I was expecting

great liner
great quality. It is a lot heavier / thicker / darker than others so it should work really well at heating the pool and keeping it hot.
