Good scale for bathroom use
I bought this scale to try to lose weight. I still use the original batteries after three months, but have some good batteries in reserve. It does have a glass top, so I am afraid of dropping stuff on it, and had to move brushes and a razor.

Product Update: Very Accurate and totally consistent
This is the update. Now the scale has a mind of it’s own. My weight read out can vary nearly 2 pounds in less than 10 minutes. I’ll get on the scale and register 160 lbs. If I do that 3 or 4 times in a couple of minutes it will always be 160. If I wait 10 minutes while I shave and brush my teeth and get on the scale I can be as much 162 lbs and when I wait a for the scale to clear it will be 162 lbs every time. It could be 159 lbs. It varies. Now a 2 pound difference isn’t life changing, but it is frustrating. It also seems to have some kind of memory as the new weight reading will be repeated. Kind of disappointing, but not life changing. I highly recommend this unit and can’t think of why you should not buy one if you like a well designed scale that is not only pleasing to the eye, but quite accurate. There’s no on-off switch, just hop on get the bad news and hop off. You can do that several times in a short period of time hoping it will drop a pound or two, but that just doesn’t happen. It may vary by a tenth of a pound, but that’s rare.

I like the real-time display
I care more about precision (consistent results) over accuracy with weight scales, since the only reason I use a scale is to monitor trends, not absolute values. So, I can't comment on the accuracy of the scale, but it gives consistent readings (I actually purchased this model because it's used at my dentist's office and I liked it). Another plus is that it uses regular AAA batteries. But the main thing I like about it is that it has a very quickly updating display (probably 10+ times per second). So you can watch the number after the decimal point fluctuate rapidly if you're not standing completely still. Pretty useful when compared to scales that don't show anything and just spit out a final reading. From what I've seen, and I *could be wrong*, the scale also does not cache recent results like most others do. I think this is a plus because I want a fresh reading every time I step on. I do not want previous readings to influence the current one. If anything, the caching that most scales do seems to be to mislead users into thinking they are more precise than they truly are.

Not really accurate, Upgrading to 5 stars after changing batteries
I've had this scale for 4 years now and about all I can do with it is track trends in my weight. If I step on and off 6 times, I can get a range of 4 pounds. I've tried it on different floor surfaces, tile and wood. It's not rocking so seems to be level. I thought a digital scale would be accurate, but this one is not. It does look nice. I posed the question to the community and received a couple of helpful tips. After changing the batteries, I'm getting a consistent reading every time, so am upgrading to five star.

a little challenging with 1-2 lbs accuracy BUT I love it. It's easy
a little challenging with 1-2 lbs accuracy BUT I love it. It's easy, resets, it doesn't feel like I'll tip over and it's very low so there's almost no step up. It's glass so I choose not to use the scale unless my feet are dry. I only need 1 scale but this would be the one I buy again. I noticed some reviews began with the look & style and then about the scale. I'm not saying it's wrong because it's important you like something you have to look at every day. I thought about skimming over to get to comments with the scale 1st but glad I didn't. If I've offended anyone with this comment it absolutely is not my intention to do so. If I did, I apologize.

Great scale. Very happy
I purchased this scale after reading a blue million amazon reviews on scales. No lie a read over 500. I finally said forget it and ask my wife to go to amazon and order me a scales she chose this one and it has not disappointed. Don't have a negative thing to say. The standing area is big for my size 13 feet. The display is crystal clear and sharp red readout. Weight has been dead on with daily weigh ins. Love that I can step right on and don't have to tap it to wake it up and then wait for to zero out. Just step on and it's off to the weigh in. I would definitely buy it again.

Not for handicapped individual
When my husband returned from the hospital after having congestive heart failure, I was told that it was necessary for me to weigh him daily to keep track of weight gains from water retention in his body. I purchased this smart-looking scale with the Taylor name, one name I had heard before and trusted. After all, Taylor Instruments were top of the market when I was younger. When I first started the scales and used them, everything seemed fine; however, my husband is disabled and so he is not able to get his feet positioned on the scale in a time that seems to be allowed for the scales to work properly. Therefore, we had to try several times. After a short time of doing this, the scales switched to weighing in kilos, not pounds as we had originally set them for. Now, instead of kilos, or pounds, the scales are showing numbers that have me weighing 34 pounds. I no longer have the packaging never thinking that this would happen with a Taylor product. I would not recommend this scale to anyone who might have difficulty stepping on the scales in a very precise way or who isn't able to deal with the new weight technology this scale seems to have. funcional
es muy bonita funciona, aveces puede variar entre 500 y 900 gramos de diferencia, pero cumple su función, solo basta pesarse un par de veces y elegir el resultado que más se repita...
