Ideal Replacement for 25-Year-Old Chandelier; Uses Incandescent, Compact Fluorescent, or LED Bulbs

The media could not be loaded. This BEL AIR LIGHTING 3-LIGHT SEMI-FLUSH MOUNT fixture is exactly what I needed to replace a 25-year-old chandelier that used twelve 25-watt incandescent bulbs. The chandelier provided most of the light for my condo's combined living/dining space, so it was important to buy a replacement fixture that could also deliver 300 watts' worth of illumination. The semi-flush mount--meaning that the glass bowl is suspended about 8-1/2" from the ceiling--is ideal for my dining room, for several reasons. Because the fixture is not enclosed, I can use LED bulbs, and I can change the bulbs by simply reaching into the bowl from above (without unscrewing anything or juggling the heavy bowl). Because the glass bowl is suspended, it looks a little like a chandelier, and the simple design looks a little less "institutional". The oil-rubbed bronze color harmonizes well with the bronze and gold light fixtures that are installed elsewhere in my condo. (You can see the bronze color in my accompanying video slide show--the product page photo is for a silver version.) The large fixture is packed in molded Styrofoam for shipping. The ceiling part comes already assembled, but is shipped flat, so the arms must be pulled apart until the holes on the ends match up with the four posts that are attached to the metal ring that supports the glass bowl. It took an electrician about 20 minutes to swap my chandelier and this fixture. However, he needed my help for a couple of minutes, to hold up the heavy glass bowl and ring while he connected the ceiling arms and the ring posts with the round nuts that go on top of the arms. This fixture accepts three incandescent, compact fluorescent, or LED bulbs using up to 100 watts. My fixture has three Phillips "100-watt replacement" LED bulbs that use 19 watts each--so I'm getting 300 watts' worth of light for just 57 watts now. The LED bulbs are dimmable, and are supposed to last for up to 22 years. Because the bulbs are angled sideways in the fixture, the LED light distributes evenly over the ceiling.

Great Light fixture

This is a nice looking light fixture, with three 1500 lumen LED bulbs (purchased separately) this fixture will definitely light up a room. This is our second fixture to add to an adjacent area to our dining area. Glad we found this light.

Huge and beautiful

Beautiful and huge! I didn't look at the dimensions before purchasing so I wasn't expecting it to be this big for the price. When it was hung I thought this thing looks like it should have cost $300, I can't believe I got it for around $70!!! It LOOKS expensive and heavy, sturdy and classic. It's probably the cheapest light fixture I have but looks the best. I plan on buying the dark one for another room I'm so in love with it. Might look a bit strange in a smaller room so check the dimensions. You will not be displeased with this purchase.

Clean Lines — Great Look!

We were looking for a contemporary ceiling light for our kitchen that would look great and give off the right amount of light. This fixture certainly met our expectations. Very pleased with the quality, appearance and the amount of light it gives off. Very good value!

This is a beautiful light. Bought 2, one for the dinning room, one for the kitchen. The style is perfect, not too modern. Super easy to clean and change the bulbs. Dinning room has a dimmer, kitchen does not. Both work great and give off plenty of light. Arrived on time, well packaged and intact. Had an electrician install them. I found the electrician service on Amazon, and that was very reasonable and straightforward. I would definitely recommend this light.

This is a beautiful light for a larger room

This is a beautiful light for a larger room. I will recommend this to future customers of mine. It was harder to install than most lights because the glass is held in place by the lower ring which must match up the four holes on the light and then be screwed on. You need to hold both the glass and the ring at the same time.

Nice style, better than average quality from China

The style of this fixture and its coordination with my decor are what attracted me most. It was easy to install, directions were clear, and packaging was excellent. The quality is not what I would have preferred, but still much better than most of what comes out of China these days. Because it is a semi-flush mount, construction details are not as noticeable, but if examined closely, it's obvious no opportunity to save money in production was overlooked.

Ce n'est pas un modèle de qualité des matériaux, mais il éclaire tellement, avec des ampoules DEL (équiv. 60 w) que je dois mettre un variateur d'intensité.
