Hard to write on

I got one of these stars for a hollywood themed birthday party. I wanted to write the name of the birthday girl on the star. I will say that the star itself is pretty awesome. It's sort of that window cling type stuff, but a little sticker. We put it on the front door and it looked great. It stayed on all night and removed cleanly without leaving any residue. That said, the thing that shocked me about the star was the difficulty we had getting a pen to write on it. It's sort of a slick material, but our house is armed with dozens of sharpies. The sharpies beaded up and you couldn't see anything that was written with them. What repels sharpie! It's a permanent marker! We had a marks-a-lot pen as well, but that was only slightly better. In the end it was hard to read the name we wrote on it. If you think you have a good permanent marker that isn't a sharpie, by all means. I know that if you buy them in larger quantities they will sometimes send you a pen to use on them as well. The difficulty of getting ink to stick was the only downside to this fun star!

Very sticky!

I used these as sort of a "Walk of Fame" at a reality show premier. They are quite sticky and removed some of the finish from the concrete floor! Yikes! Maybe use some other double sided tape and leave the backing on instead? I had the "star" sign his signature on each star to complete the look.

for the price you pay it does the job. I plan to use it for my sons hollywood theme party. I did add gold sticker letters to it and made it look alot more authentic. it is like a sticker but is reuseable if used properly. I plan to place it on a plexi glass and since other reviews say it leaves a stain or residue. but a cool prop!

Huge hit!

We got these stickers for my daughter's first birthday party and put the name of her guests on them and placed them on the tile floor at the entrance to our house. The party was over 6 months ago and I am still pleasantly surprised when we go to some of the houses of kids that came to the party and they still have "their" star on their bedroom door!

Sticks well

Purchase this as a party set up for my daughter's birthday. We use a Sharpie to put her name on it and it worked really well. We stuck this in front of her bedroom on a laminate floor. It's stuck very well and we left it for several days. It left very little residue on the floor when we pulled it up.

I read a review that mentioned that, though it says you can write on the star, the ink rubs off, even with permanent marker and sharpies. So i used letter stickers, and it worked great! I think i like the stick on letters better because they come in a variety of designs to choose from.

Super Star

This was purchased for my Daughter's 13th birthday. She was celebrating her birthday with a Movie theme and we had a Red Carpet that everyone walked down when coming into the home. She wanted this at the end of the carpet and let me just tell you everyone was "Stunned!" They all commented on it and loved it. We have Travertine Floor and the sticker went down and came up in seconds. Not one issue. Must have for your next Movie Night celebration.
