I used these to make up an archery target bale
I used these to make up an easily maintained archery target bale. I sandwiched these between to 1/2" plywood frames using 1/2" threaded rods bought from Home Depot. I can make this as dense as I want by compression. The 4' stack height could be squeezed down to 3.5 feet easily. The tighter these are squeezed down the more chance for stopping arrows, but in some cases they are hard to extract if the foam is very dense. I have had to use a jack style arrow puller on some arrows if the arrow goes directly into the foam. You can’t pull them out. They can be as tight as if stuck into wood. In between foam sheets no problem. As well, after a few shots grouped in the same area (usually around any bullseye) they are easier to pull out when worn down after a few rounds. The lightness of the pads is not a big deal and it makes these easier to move around. I tested as well to predict stopping power by just cranking the bolts pulling the stack together, in order to see how dense that I wanted them. They just go in 6-12 inches initially and should last a long time. As you can see, I also kept out a few extras, but these can be easily swapped around when they become used. So, you have a long-time use that you can get from these. There's a lot of matts in one set as well. Enough for most people. I bought two sets because I wanted a wall 4' wide and 4' high and 2' deep inside the garage. These will also work well outside. You can just make up a target with one set or you can cut them in half also and just make the targets two feet deep, but I liked the range style setup for the end of the tandem garage for testing equipment and I shoot at very small targets. I didn’t want any going through at some point and marking up the walls. The bull that I shoot at indoors is just an arrow width, so this translates well when shooting outdoors. When you prep the mats for making this target bale be careful. Cut the same edge on all the mats to keep the jigsaw pattern on the edges the same where they come to lock together. You'll want one flat edge only for target faces so that the target face will lay flat against this. The “fake flat edges” that come with these will not work for this project. Take these off. They are unnecessary. Bear in mind that the four edges are not all the same. They jigsaw around the edges. You just need to cut off one edge that will serve for the target face, but it has to be the same edge for all of these (not just a random edge). The knife edge blade should be used on a Sabre saw to cut the edge. It will slice through these. Don’t use a wood or steel Sabre saw blade. It will cut like butter and zip through these, but it still takes a few hours to cut one edge on them all (I had two sets). Start by first setting these up and keeping the mats all stacked with the edges all facing the same way as they would be when put together. The cut and stack these uniformly from one pile to the other. This is important because it is easy to get confused. I kept having to stop and verify what I was doing, since they easily can get flipped around and if they do and get cut all of this won't come together uniformly. After this is built up and mounted you can cut around the edges and any bulges with a utility knife just to get a flatter surface for the target faces and clean up any edges. It’s anal but looks nicer. When competing you get points for line breaks, and you want these line breaks to be clean if testing so that you are not cutting the edge of a line due to bulges in the target surface.

Work just fine
I like that it’s double sided, and it mostly fits into the other type of gym floor mats I bought. They arrived quickly and weren’t covered in a dust or film like the other reviewer so maybe that’s a problem they fixed? Either way I’m satisfied with them and would recommend, especially because they’re $100 cheaper than the next brand of 3/4” mats.

Puzzle floor mats/tiles
I received only 6 tiles of my order. Waiting for the other 30 tiles to complete my full order. I paid $69.99 for 36 and only received 6.

Worst Foam Tiles Ever
These are the worst foam tiles I have ever bought. I bought close to 600 sq ft of tiles. They smell horrible! Each tile was FULL of EVA foam dust all over the front and back. I wiped down half of the tiles until I googled why my lungs, sinuses and eyes burned. EVA foam dust is HIGHLY toxic! We are returning all 6 huge boxes. Very disappointed and a hassle for both us and the UPS driver. DO NOT BUY!

Quality and price
These are perfect for my home gym the price is right the quality is just fine with me I could’ve spent $1500-$2000 on flooring but I’d rather spend that money on more equipment the box that came in was pretty tore up been taped back together a few times but the contents so it was fine nothing wrong with it was perfect I’m looking forward to putting it down on the floor and getting to work thank you
