Fun first instrument
I purchased this for my granddaughter’s first birthday. I was skeptical as I am a music teacher, but quality is very good for the price. The keys are easy enough for a 12 month old to produce sounds on the piano and it will also play songs for them. It has a good sound quality. It’s also sturdy. As a child grows they will be able to do more with it as it contains color coded cards to follow. Very happy with this purchase!

Fun toy, looks nice not the best for young babies
Sometimes there’s a bit of delay when tapping the keys. Young babies frequently try to climb on it and end up getting knocked in the face or falling over. Overall it’s a decent piano toy, but I’d wait until they’re 12+ months to get this one.

durable
bought this for my grandson when he was 1. This is more for a 2 /3/4 year old- but it is a nice gift that a tot can grow into. There are so many features for a piano & Its well made and sturdy. NOT CHEAPY made like so many toys are. The key board is flat and easy to wipe down. I had to store the cards as my grandson who is now 2 is still not ready to use and comprehend- but that will come. I gifted one to a friend and she loved it for her 3 year old. The colors are vibrant and there is that thing about the red/orange color but that is a small detail- considering how nice this product is.

Fun and not annoying
My kids (5 and 1) both love this toy. And I love it too because it hasn't have annoying tones like this most toys! The only negative thing is the print where it shows volume and on off has rubbed off quickly. But we still love it!

My (under 12 months old) niece LOVED this product! Easily worth way more than the $20 I spent on it. Durable and even the older family such as myself liked playing simple tunes on it to entertain her. The audio is adjustable so for those concerned it will make a racket; it won't, and if you want it a little quieter it has a softer volume option. I particularly like that it comes with song cards so as she gets older she can attempt to play simple tunes. I think this product makes a good leeway into eventually starting piano lessons. The song cards are not actually cardboard they seem to be made of like a plastic material so I thought that was useful knowledge that they don't seem like they could be ruined easily, if at all. She did like to flip the piano, but personally, I had no concerns. To me, the product was quite light considering she could move it around with ease, the wood is softer so to me it is safer, but at the end of the day it is still wood! I highly recommend this product. I think it has longevity and quality, especially at its price point!

So close to a great toy...
Likes: * Clever induction sensors on the wood make a toy that's easy to clean and child-safe * Plastic music sheets are durable playthings * Baby gets a lot of value out of pressing the auto-play button and listening to tunes Dislikes: * Speaker resonates and distorts on high volume setting * Product isn't in the standard pitch so we can't play along with another instrument without retuning, and there is no obvious way to tune the oscillator in the piano. * Each black key shares the same sensor as a white key, if it's too expensive to add the appropriate semitone notes just eliminate the sensor here! * The mismatch between the colours on the sheets and the colours on the keyboard is really damning, especially since the ability to play be colour is a claimed product feature. * The easily accessible auto-play button provides no incentive to experiment with the keyboard. It should be possible to disable this. This product is really disappointing. It has so much potential to be a fantastic little plaything but is let down by careless design choices and poor assembly. I am not aware of anything better in this space, and might even still reluctantly recommend this piano... but it's so disappointing that only slightly more thought and attention to detail could have resulted in something fantastic, while the result here is merely mediocre.

The colours don't corresponde
This piano is such a good idea in theory. But after opening ours, we soon realised the coloured dots on the music sheets - (which your child is ']meant to match to the colours on the keyboard to be able to play a tune) do not match . Orange on the sheet is the red on the keyboard. Yet there is a red on the keyboard as well. Therefore, not playing the tune it is meant to. How can a toy like this be produced and yet no one has realised the biggest fault of all. It is such a shame. Brillant idea, badly executed.

Almost a wonderful toy.
This is almost a wonderful toy. However, the electronic design does not allow the manufacturer to adjust the pitch of the finished product to exactly match the standard tuning of a piano. I have tried four different ones, and all were between half and one semitone flat. If just a little more money had been spent on the electronics, the toy would have been much improved.

Colours don’t match!
Great idea but the colours on the music don’t much the colours in the music! So it’s impossible to teach the child to match it and play as they don’t much! Instead of red is pink and so on. Very disappointed!

Really !?
So I don’t get the point of this toy. Why not get a wooden toy xylophone instead that children can beat and play music. This is nothing like a piano (missing all the keys - which is obvious from their product description) but doesn’t even sound like one. The song sheet that comes with it only has one line of song * 6 that I haven’t even heard of but I am music illiterate so can’t blame them for it. I have a melodious wooden toy xylophone already that too came with song sheets so wanted to buy a toy piano to give my daughter an idea of another musical instrument and this won’t do the job. I have since returned this item and bought a Casio SA 46 A which is also toddler friendly and plays like a piano - I have learnt to play some songs on that one and hope that my daughter will develop love for music. As far a hape quality goes, hape always delivers and this toy is no different. But for 20-24 pound I’d spend my money elsewhere.
