Works great

I got this for my Pedego Interceptor ebike. It's a 29" ebike and the stem that came stock was too short for me. I thought about buying a new fixed stem, but someone recommended getting this stem to find the perfect height and angle. That was my plan but this adjustable stem works so well that I might just keep it on there. The concern I had was the Interceptor is a cruiser with large, swept handlebars that are heavy. I didn't know if this adjustable stem could handle the torque and weight. So far, it is doing well. This is the same adjustable stem the Pedego City Commuter uses, but the City Commuter has mountain bike type handle bars. Very happy with this purchase.

Adjustable bike stem

This is an odd review, because the item was returned to Amazon. The stem is sturdy and well made. The bottom of the stem is 31.8mm but the top (part that attaches to the handlebars) is about 25mm. My handlebars are 31.8mm. The error is mine. I like the range of adjustment and would buy again if the stem would fit both places on my bike!

Works great!

It's a big heavy completely adjustable stem. OK, I guess you can't make it longer or shorter, but you can adjust it in an arc and it works great. For the people who say it's too loose, tighten it! There's a bolt (see picture) on the bottom that adjusts the clamp tension the stem exerts, and mine by default was very loose. I gave the bolt about 1/4 turn and everything tightened right up. This thing's cool!

Ingenious and very useful!

Ingenious product! You can reposition your handlebars from a horizontal stem position to a vertical stem position. Really great for long rides to break up the constant strain on the body. I wished they had a 31.2 mm handlebar version also.

Great product

This is a great product. Took about 15 minutes to install. Works 100 percent as described. Some have written about slippage and not being easy to adjust I have found none of these problems.

Know your handle bars and look closely at photo

I wanted to love this stem. The idea of adjusting without tools sounded very appealing to me. Received from Amazon quickly with prime. Looked well built and sturdy. The problem is the way the stem attaches to the handle bars. My handle bars wouldn't fit thru the hole. I tried to pry apart toke them fit but no luck. I have mtn bike with 25.4 bars.

Not totally secure.

I really wanted to like this product. It's a sleek design and a good concept but, alas, it doesn't hold its position as firmly as I'd like. If you're gripping the bar only to steer, it's probably no problem. But if you put any significant weight on the bar it'll move. More years of wait ahead for a great adjustable stem.

Works fine, with some modification.

Raises handlebar to a comfortable position, however needed a longer left brake cable. Stem on my Schwinn Talik 29er was 3/4" longer than receiver on Promax adjustable stem, so I had to make a suitable metal spacer for it to fit properly. I had no problems after that re: loose fit or movement. I ride on paved and dirt roads, and smooth trails but not on rough terrain.
