For someone new to dehydrating this is a great product
Being faced with a large amount of produce and limited freezer space plus not wanting to learn how to can my surplus I began to research dehydrating. I found a review of this exact brand of dehydrator on YouTube. His review and explanation of what I need and what he thought were beneficial components to this product (low cost, quiet, easy to clean, size and simple directions) helped me with the decision to buy this dehydrator. Next I looked at books with recipes and basic directions on how to dehydrate food. I have had it for 4 months, have logged in hundreds of hours and love it. I like to dehydrate overnight. Two books I bought after looking at many from the library are Dried & True by Sara Dickerson (Chart at the back listing common foods and how to dehydrate them worth the cost of the book) and The Beginner's Guide to Dehydrating Food by Teresa Marrone. Also I found that an item made for spraying olive oil is perfect for filling instead with lemon juice and using it to coat the foods so they do not brown. This has made things fast and easy. The trays clean up perfectly in the dishwasher which removes any sticky residue. I have a wonderful produce market nearby that has outstanding discount sales of fruits and vegetables. Favorite things my family devours have been, pears, apples, bananas, mushrooms, chili peppers, lemons, and I can't wait to experiment with more items. I am still learning and find that I am saving money because we are not wasting items that we can't consume fresh. I am saving freezer space and still able to have on hand foods I use often. For someone trying dehydrating for the first time this is a good dehydrator. We will not be making meat jerky or leathers so I can't tell you how this product will do for those items.

Perfect cupasity
I've recently decided to eat more raw foods to better my health so I needed a dehydrator even tho I've never owned one I knew I would prefer a square dehydrator over a round one. When I went searching I discovered they are outrageously expensive. I found this aroma 6 tray with many good reviews (I purchase on Amazon based on good and bad reviews) the price was less then half for an Excalibur of about the same size. I had a camping trip planned shortly after I received it, my dehydrator ran for a wk straight with intermittent breaks so I could bring a bunch of raw goodies with me camping. The cupasity of the Aroma is perfect it can hold a bunch of kale for kale chips with no overlapping. At first I thought it was too big but after noticing how small things become w/o water I think I made the right choice for my needs (I am a single person). I hope this machine lasts a long time cause I plan to get great use from it. The trays are plastic with crisscross the spacing is bigger then I prefer so I had to purchase Teflon dehydrator sheets @ $16. a 9pk they cut to size and I use them for most things unless they are large slices or bars so that's a hastle to have to wash extra sheets between uses. The dehydrator is a decent size appliance (because of this I had limited options on placement in my kitchen) and the cord is very short so I have to use an extension cord to reach the outlet. The Aroma does not come with a temp Gage so I will have to purchase one separately no timer either but I can use my phone or oven timer. I m new to dehydrating so I have nothing to compare the Aroma to butso far its been great easy to use gets the job done and provides a means to a whole new world of food that I can't wait to try. I've learned you can make nut cheeses crackers breads wraps brownies and more by dehydrating and this is perfect for me because I am vegan dabling into raw and love the kitchen. Happy dehydrating ;-)

It is so easy and virtually very little clean up. Excellent product and it’s very quiet.
There is nothing to dislike. Love it!

No complaints!
I love it!!!!!! I received mine on Wednesday and have been using it every day since then. I purchased mine used through the warehouse for less than the original price and it only had a slight cosmetic issue but was still fully functional. Who cares about visual flaws if it works perfectly?? I didn't. Anyway, no there is not a timer for all the people upset about this. To be honest you really don't need one if you know how to tell time. Last night I put a batch of chickpeas in around 6 and let it run overnight. When I woke up at 8 this morning they were perfect. It's best to either start your batch first thing in the morning or early evening that way you're not worried about having to get up in the middle of the night to check it. I will say that when I first turned it on there was a bit of a plastic smell that came out but that stopped after I let it run for about 5 minutes and has not returned. I don't have a heat sensor to test whether or not it's heating to the correct temperature but everything I've made so far has come out perfectly in the correct time or less time than needed. If making fruit leather you will definitely need to purchase some dehydrator sheets, I purchased mine through Amazon as well. Sooo long review short, I love this machine and plan getting tons of use out of it.

Excellent dehydrator, have used it twice so far.
I've used it to dehydrate a batch of frozen blueberries and strawberries(sticky), an apple, and can of mixed veggies, with some kale chips on the bottom. The shelves each adjust by halves so I could give the kale more space. Second batch was a can of chicken spread out on parchment paper and a pound of ground beef jerky. It dehydrates quickly, the jerky was done in 8 hours, even the pieces on parchment. Just turned those once. Kale took 2-3 hours. Fresh blueberries do not dehydrate well, they sure can keep their moisture inside. The frozen ones worked very well. I am guessing the blueberries need some prep first. It's extremely quiet, just a soft fan sound. Heats up very well. I will be getting more plastic mesh from the craft store (I heard it's only 33 cents for a square there) to do smaller items, it only comes with one sheet. Parchment did work fine though, the fan is in the back so it blows the air across, not through. I really like the way the front slides down into the grooves. The front is clear, you can check things easily with a flashlight. I will add to this if anything changes but I love it so far. Very glad I took a chance on this one.

LUV it
wow what a great dehydrator. I almost bought the Excalibur until I saw this one. half the price and just as good. comes with six trays and six plastic inserts for smaller pieces. I did buy the wax paper sheets for liquid stuff separately from another seller but they were cheap. This machine really works well and dehydrates in no time. We have used it for fruit, veggies, herbs from the garden, thinly sliced meat for dog treats and even made some corn chips in it. It has the fan at the back so it evenly distributes to all the trays. It is quiet and really works fast. I love this new addition to my kitchen.

love it! easy to use
love it! easy to use, I've had great results with everything I've tried, flavours are amazing. I find it just big enough for a small garden. I like the clear door and it's very quiet, looks good too, as I'm using it all the time at this time of year it sits on my kitchen counter.

Very happy with my purchase :)
Works great! Very happy with my purchase I thought I wanted one with a timer, and now I am glad that I have one without. If you have a timer on, and don't get to check the progress of your dehydrated food, that doesn't work out. Love this dehydrator. Great product, great price!

Works and looks professional
Works like a boss! Made a batch of cinnamon apple chips and it came out beautiful . It does take longer than the time stated but I'm still satisfied. Apple chips will not be exactly like the commercial bought chips because there's no preservatives. I have many more things to try with this machine. But when I hear the humming of the fan, I know production is in progress!!
