Not Quite Waterproof
I bought these snow pants because I desperately needed a new pair. I really liked the idea of a “slim fit” style to ease my vain mind. Let’s face it, one doesn’t usually equate the words snow pants and slender! I was tired of feeling like the Pillsbury Dough Boy when playing outdoors in the winter! These pants do live up to the “slim fit” wording. The fleece lining was nice and soft, though I layered with a pair of fleece-lined leggings for extra warmth. Though the weather was hovering around 32 degrees, the windchill that afternoon was in the low 20s. I was skiing that day and completely comfortable, even on the chairlifts. While I was warm, I was not dry…and, no, it wasn’t due to falls! It was snowing heavily and the chairlifts were soaking wet. I didn’t think that much of it until I got to the top of the hill, got off the chairlift, and thanks to a gust of wind, discovered that my back end was wet and rather chilly. There’s nothing worse than being wet in chilly, windy weather. Pros: The zippered pocket on the thigh is deep and perfect for storing anything you’d like. There is a ring to attach your keys to for safe keeping. No one wants to lose their car keys/hotel key on a mountain! I had no problem pulling the pant cuffs down over my ski boots. I think these are last year’s model (1. because of the heavily discounted price, & 2. because the Bluebird color was in stock on Amazon but not on the Arctyx website) because the description on the Arctyx site says that there are zippers along the lower legs for ease of pulling down over ski boots-the pair I received did not have them. I ordered the Bluebird color and it is gorgeous! A beautiful shade of teal, which I paired with a light grey ski parka. Other Cons: The two hip pockets are shallow and do not have zippers (again, I think these are last year’s model because the current Arctyx site says these pants come with zippered front pockets & the pair I received had nada). Basically don’t put anything in there that you don’t want disappearing. I liken those pockets to what you get when you buy a low-rise pair of jeans. The jeans look great, but anything you put in the front pockets will fall out the moment you even think about leaning over. In my rush to order the snow pants, I didn’t realize they weren’t the same pair as on the Arctyx web site. Are these snow pants a total dealbreaker? Ehh, I guess I have to say that I got what I paid for. I wasn’t expecting the world when I was only paying $26 for them. I’m irritated that they aren’t truly waterproof. Who want to be wet & cold while playing outside in the winter? The hip pockets are a disappointment, but thankfully my parka has enough pockets. I wouldn’t wear them on a really cold day (sub-zero weather), even with wool leggings, but that’s to be expected. They are clearly described as shell pants with a fleece lining, not insulated. The fit was too be expected. They don’t make that awful swishing noise when you walk (so you can sneak up on people?) and I didn’t feel like my butt was going to slide right off the chairlift like an old pair of cheap polyester snow pants. I’ll wear them for the rest of the season and reevaluate next winter.

Great ski pants
Overall I really like these and bought a 2nd pair (now have the turquoise and white). I like that they aren’t too bulky, Comfy with good movement. I’m an east coast skier so not a ton of powder/wet to deal with so have not tested water resistance but for typical skiing they do the job and fit well. I bought XL despite the size chart saying I should buy L based on measurements. Glad I did as they are a bit snug in the waist but not uncomfortable. I am 185/190 typical size 14, apple shape.

My favorite ski pants!
The clasp at the waist broke during the first wearing. I sewed it back on, they’re fine now. The fit is better than any pair of ski pants I’ve owned. The color is perfect!

Love my snow pants!
So happy with these pants. I’m short and small and I needed to get a medium and they fit perfect… also I wore thermals underneath but the pants kept me warm too. Loved them. Excellent quality

Best cold weather pants I own!
I needed a pair of pants that would work for cold, rainy hikes and wouldn’t be super heavy. First of all, the sizing on Arctix can be a little funny. My waist is 27, hips 35, inseam 29-30. The small short fits me well with some room in the waist area and enough room to put a pair of fleece leggings underneath, if needed. These aren’t adjustable like the Arctix snow pants but have belt loops- so a basic canvas belt would work well. I thought I would have to have a belt, but they stayed up fine without me having to tug at them. I think the xs short would work as well, but I like them a little looser. Second, warmth and waterproof: I’ve worn them in 30 degree rainy weather and stayed warm and dry without an extra layer. These have a super soft flannel layer that is just cuddly. They don’t make the noise that the Arctix ski pants do when you walk, and they, certainly, aren’t as thick. Worn in the rain, the water just beads up and doesn’t soak in. This could be different if you are super soaked, but they worked well for me. They have gators with elastic that can cover your boots to avoid any splashing or snow. I got the black and all of the Arctix logos were also in black. The hand pockets are on each side and are big enough for my phone. If it’s cold enough, I may just wear them to work. They can be dressed up a little with the right top or sweater. I hope this review helps someone. I really love these.

I loove the material and how it keeps me warm, dry and comfy. Hoooowever, the button, and zippers are VERY CHEAP.

Great for Iceland and petite women!
PROS: High waisted, waterproof, and warm! I took them to Iceland at the end of October and stayed dry and warm. We got hit with rain (see how wet my jacket is) and stayed dried. I didnt have any rain soak through. I wore a fleece base layer under but I honestly think I would have been ok without them. It was about 30° F when we visited. I cant remember if they aremarketed as "windproof" but they felt like it. We got caught in some frigid cold wind. While my face suffered, my legs felt protected and warm. I wear a 28" or 29" inseam and was able to wear these without having to get them tailored. I folded up about 2" back up into the inside for a fitted look. It stayed folded all day through all the rainy hiking so this is a great option for shorter women who don't want to spend time or money having them hemmed. The higher waist helped slim and hide some of my insecurities so I appreciated the extra material. My waist is about 38" around at my belly button and the size Medium allowed me to still move without extra tightness when bending over CONS: Not necessarily a bad thing, but they have plastic ends added to the end of the legs that are similar to a sauna suit's material for additional ankle/boot protection. They served no purpose for me since the pants are already waterproof. Since I am only 5ft tall, I will be cutting off those extra plastic protectors. I folded them up on my calves to hide them when I wore them. Overall an awesome product for us shorter women. I plan to continue using them for cold and wet activities such as hiking and hunting.

Not true to size
Don't trust the sizing guide. It's not right. Have had to buy a different pair of ski trousers as this one is way to big and will just fall off when I'm skiing. Disappointing

Scout approved
Bought an Xl (normally wear a 14/16 pants) fits snug over jeans and not restricting. I'm looking forward to testing them at winter scout camp. *update* spent the weekend skiing, hiking and camping in these. They are perfect. The night was windy and cold but I was warm and dry.

Warped proportions
Disappointed in the proportions of these pants. I’m a size 10-12 and sized up to the 16-18 on the off chance they were made small... The size was irrelevant in the end. The rise on these is extremely low - only covered half my butt. The thighs just barely fit, the legs however were 6 inches too long for me, extremely flared and the interior ankle elastic was flappy and gaping. So from what I can gather if you: have a size 8 butt, size 12 thighs, you’re taller than 6’2 and you have gigantic ankles and feet WELL YOU’RE IN LUCK!

Good snow pants if you live in Florida
Unfortunately, not so good if you live where it snows (like in Canada, where I am). I decided that I would use them as regular pants since I like the style and they're not suitable for the Canadian cold... So I cut the boot protectors out of the legs and tried them on. Without pants underneath... they're transparent. That's how thin they are. They aren't snow pants and they're not even convertible to decent everyday pants. I wasted over $60. Not recommended!!

Wrong sizing
I'm a tall and curvy woman. I chose the long xl pant. It was way too long even if I'm 5'9. Also it was too tight around my thighs, too big at my waist and perfect at my hips. I think it would fit a man better or a very tall woman with no curve. I had to return it. Also, I tried it at -10 F and I was freezing.
