What's not to Love about this vest!
I was talking to a guy i a fly fishing shop in Tennessee. I notice you don't have fly vests in here, I said. He replied we all use the waste fanny packs here. I have tried them and they were not for me! I like my net behind be on a magnet and tether for easy reach. This vest has plenty of storage for all my fly boxes, tippet material, gadgets, etc.. I use a wading staff in the bigger rivers so swinging a fanny pack is not for me! I love the vest so far and has room for a water bladder if needed! My old vest kept getting the fabric caught in the zippers! UGH! This vest has no fabric cover over the zippers! Love it!

Fantastic fishing vest for wading and trout fishing
I haven't worn a fishing vest in years. I used to buy the Walmart specials annually at the beginning of trout season every year and trash it by the following season because they just didn't hold up. I'm guessing I'm not alone. I've tried several different carry options over the last few years including: fanny packs, backpacks, messenger bags, chest rigs, and so on and so forth. I ordered this Big Horn Fishing Vest in Olive color about 3 weeks ago. I couldn't be happier with this thing. The pictures don't do justice to just how many pockets there are hidden in this thing. It's also made out of a heavy duty, but very light Nylon type of material. Not sure if it's Cordura or not. The layout of this vest is very intuitive. It's also very easy to access all areas of the front of the vest while wading. I haven't had anything bind or pinch or shuffle around regardless of how I've moved while wearing it. One of the biggest bonuses of the Big Horn is the ample padding around your neck and shoulders. It's very comfortable no matter how much kit I decide to haul to the stream with me. It's also extremely adjustable at both the shoulders and waist area. I've worn a hoodie and light jacket under this vest and have had no issues with comfort or range of motion. This vest is also very breathable. I have yet to sweat due to wearing it. As for cargo capacity, I carry 6 jars of Power bait, 2 jars of salmon eggs, a plastic worm box, 1 medium size plastic box for terminal tackle, 1 small plastic box for spinners/lures, 6 pouches of Power bait worms, 2 sets of hemostats, 1 set of collapsible scissors, 1 roll of TP, 1 stringer on my back as well as my trout net on my back. And there's still several pouches I have yet to use. Another large bonus to this vest is the zippers. Every external pocket has 2 zippers and clam shells to about half of its capacity so that you can grab your kit then easily close the pocket after use. They are metal, which is nice, and they have fair sized pull tabs. The real test with this will be fall fishing with gloves on. Whoever designed this must actually fish, or actually paid attention to the needs of fisherman. It's rare to find a functional outdoor product right out of the box that doesn't need some sort of modification to it. The interior pockets are nice as well. The interior belly pockets zip. The interior chest pockets do not. But they really don't need to in my opinion. They're made out of a reasonably robust mesh. The back of the vest has a mesh area that you can store a hydration bladder in. I believe it has a hook for one, I haven't used it yet. But in another month it'll be great useful. I'm impressed that someone actually put a bladder area in a vest that didn't cost a ridiculous amount of money. I wouldn't use one over 50 oz due to weight. But that's me. There are also loops at the shoulder straps to hold your hydration hose easily. There's a small zippered pocket below the mesh in the back that I keep a bottle of water and my TP in a zip lock bag. Overall, I'm extremely impressed with both the build quality and options available for a vest that cost me less than $50 here on Amazon. I really can't ask for more. My only SMALL nitpick would be keepers for the excess webbing on the shoulder straps. But I can easily buy/make them myself.

Feels like a Fishpond vest, fits anyone!
Me being a rather large man...well let's just say if I grow out my beard people could mistake me for Sasquatch while fishing. 6'9" 315. I am very skeptical on buying things online for fit reasons but this thing fits! I am sure it would fit someone who is 5'9" 150 as well. It is highly adjustable. It is made out of good sturdy material, has good zippers and plenty of storage. The storage is the perfect amount, it is not overwhelming to the point where you would forget where you put something but has enough storage to get you through a long day of fishing. The pads that hold your flies are on Velcro and can be moved from the outside of the vest to the inside of the small pockets on the front. I put two fly boxes and all my gear in the vest and there is still room for much more. It isn't bulky and can be adjusted to a snug fit as to not get in the way of casting. I originally tried on a fishpond vest and did not want to pay the $190 but this one is almost exactly the same and feels the same while wearing. I am very impressed, it is well worth the money, I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The best vest yet
I trout fish, hard, for 6 or 7 weeks a year. I hike in a lot and often travel though woods and brush to get there. Generally at the end of the season I need various repairs done to the 2 vests I carry with me. Not this year! This is a very sturdy and well made vest. A little heavier than the traditional vest but the little bit of extra weight is well worth it. It also has ample, well placed storage with room for more than I care to carry. As all of you fly fishermen know if there is the smallest thing a line can get caught on your leader or tippet will find it, and in this case it is the zippers. The little hook that holds the tab to the zipper is open just enough that the line can slip into it. Not a big deal unless you're standing up to waist in strong current and the wind is blowing and you are having a bad day anyhow. It only happened to me 8 or 10 times but when it did it was aggravating The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I didn't have the option to give it 4.9 stars.

Fly fishing vest
Just got this today and I am impressed. I have used a Redington traditional vest for years and decided to upgrade. Took me awhile to decide on which one. I am glad it was this one , Seems very well made and lots of room. I am 6' and 210lbs. I took the straps up all the way and it hangs just right so if you are a large person there is ample room for adjustment. It is heavier than my old vest but should hold up just fine getting through brush and trees. I think there are way more pockets than I will need for fly fishing streams but that is fine always room for more stuff if needed.

Nothing fishy about this vest
Wow, it's been a minute since I was so impressed with a product that I went out of my way to write a review. This vest looks and feels as solid as could be. Very glad I did not shell out $200 on a fishpond vest but kept looking and found this one instead. This will replace the vest I've worn for 20 years. It's about time I've upgraded!

Good quality product
Good quality product, worn and filled with various things, only gave it for stars cause I find it quite hot. But well made and comfortable otherwise

Good buy
Generally excellent vest with plenty of options in regards storage and placement. Back storage, could do with a bigger zipped compartment but “ok” as can easy carry a pack too. Looks to be well made. I’m 110kg 5’11 so some extra winter coat lol but fitted well with plenty of adjustment.
