Cheese grating legend
This thing is an absolute rock star for making homemade mac and cheese. Long gone are the days of me hand-grating two blocks of cheese, cutting myself along the way. Instead, I just plug this bad larry in and get the job done in no time. Highly recommend!

Kitchen Aid has a Myriad of attachments, but this is by far one that is pretty much a necessity. Cheese shredded from a block is always better than pre-shredded. (No anti caking agents that are basically sawdust.) This attachment makes quick work of shredding lbs of cheese within minutes. The only drawback is softer cheeses tend to gum up the shredder a bit and don't always come out the chute without a little coaxing. Still better than Shredding by hand. Clean up is not terrible but beware, the holes in the shredder are sharp and will cut if you are not careful.

Best most useful attachment accessory!
I purchased this attachment because of my arthritis. Best decision. I don’t grate cheese anymore and don’t pay exorbitant prices for cheese grated for me. No more pain from grating. Save money and it slices veggies so bread and butter pickles are a breeze. All do is supervise my Kitchen Aid mixer.

Easy to use
This is pretty easy to use, grates a lot of cheese very quickly. Disassembles pretty easily for cleaning as well. I highly recommend cutting a block of cheese into portions that will fit in the sleeve, then freezing for an hour or two before grating.

Food processor is faster
I bought this because I have an old food processor that's been giving problems and thought that since I had this mixer I should buy the accessories. It comes nicely packaged and everything was intact. I decided to make a salad using carrots, cabbage and cucumbers. I did the carrots on the medium grate, and the cabbage on the slicer. It's not as fast as the food processor and sometimes things seem to get stuck in the chute and that's when I noticed that the plunger also gets stuck and is difficult to remove. Usually if you get the plunger out and take out the stuck piece and drop it back in it will process it. The attachment really needs a slight tilt because the shredded carrot, cabbage, etc just gets stuck inside with the occasional piece being thrown out mostly to the right. To detach the insert press the lever on the body and it will eject it, sometimes by a fair amount so you can easily grab it - doesn't work well if stuff gets caught between the wall of the attachment and the insert. I sliced onions and garlic as well using the slicer insert. The carrot stained the white inner walls a little but I was able to get out most of it by washing with a soapy sponge but there is still a faint stain there. Overall a food processor is a lot faster and this is a good option to avoid the bulk of a food processor if you don't have one and want one but have a mixer already.

Worth the money
Used it to grate a lot of cheese and it worked great. It's easy to assemble and easy to clean. Well worth the money.

Overall Good Product
Shreds great and a major time saver. However when you shred cheese, the cheese can have a tendency to get stuck between the blade and the housing device. So make sure you stop the mixer periodically to clear out any jams. Overall, good product

Must Have
I wish I would have seen this years ago. You will save lots of money shredding block cheese. I have also used it to make cauliflower rice. Quick and easy to use.

Works like a charm
I’ve used various different types of graters and slicers and they never seem to last. This one seems having used it a few times to be very durable, very simple and easy to clean. I was surprised to see the white casing is made out of what looks and feels like ceramic or some coated metal, not plastic thankfully. It’s also powerful being attached to to a mixer and all. It shredded a regular brick of cheese in maybe a minute. The slicer worked even just as great, easily sliced up cucumber like butter and I was very surprised as how even the piece were. Probably one of the best attachments I own and hopefully it lasts. Strongly recommend this to anyone who is tired of paying $40 for a turning shredder but end up using the good ole hand shredder.

Works great
I spend 1 morning every couple of weeks shredding various cheeses and sealing it into individual bags. It used to be a tedious chore before getting this shredder. It works wonderful on my Kitchenaid mixer. It lets me save a ton of money over buying packaged shredded cheese.
