Fatto in Italia.

Very convenient
Like promise of long-term durability and value over gas lighter. Don't like that stove does not light readily... say 3 or more presses

Works great and saves matches! (not super durable)
This is a great tool for lighting gas stoves! It was bought to replace the use of both matches and the old-school flint scraping style lighters, and does a superb job for both. Overall, if it stands up to heavy duty use it will deserve a top notch rating. Pros : * Easy to operate * Produces a reliable spark every time * No consumables or anything to refill or replace - this saves money in the long run! And it's more environmental. Cons : * The only minor quibble is that the part you need to stick into the gas to ignite the flame is very short. I'd rather there was a much longer metal part and keep the plastic as far back from the flame as possible. That would also help keep your hand away from both flames and potentially hot burner surfaces (especially on large industrial stoves such as ours). *6 Month Update* : First note- this is a in a heavy use situation. So it's probably getting 3-6 times the amount of use as it would in a normal household kitchen. The front metal sleeve started to fall off and required adding a screw (or you could glue it, perhaps) to hold it in place. The handle doesn't always return to the ready-for-next-click position, which can be frustrating. Overall the product has not been as durable as hoped. If it had been built to last better this would have been great.

I love this thing!
I was a little worried because some reviewers said it broke after a couple of months but I've now had it for 2 months and it still looks and works like new. I really love this stove lighter! My last one was the butane kind and when I tried to fill it, I ended up with butane all over my hands. I had never heard of a pietzoelectric lighter but it's the only type I'll ever buy going forward! Highly recommended.

Dependable spark. A learning curve
1st one worked great. It works great with just a slight squeeze. I think my wife broke the 1st one by squeezing too hard and / or dropping it repeatedly. Fortunately another was readily available at a fair price. Will see how the second works. Love the simple one-handed operation. No need for a difficult-to-use safety switch like on the gas-filled versions. A simple spark readily ignites a stove burner. One trick is rhe burner should be fairly low flow to ignite. High flow fails becausenit extinguishes the flame. So low flow burner and a slight squeeze of the ignighter and you will be happy.

Works great! Lasts forever!
This is our 2nd one. The first one was still going strong at 4 years old, but we lost it in a flood. This is the best stove lighter we have ever had and we have tried lots of them over the years. Great product!

a great product
I have gotten these for $6 and for $18...all on Amazon Next time I see them I will buy a several. Use it every day. Lasts a long long time. Just keep it dry and away from wet surfaces.

Excellent torch lighter
Works great as a propane torch lighter. I find it easier to use than a flint striker. Only issue for torch use is that it's mostly plastic so you have to make sure you yank it out of the flame before it starts to melt. It generates multiple piezo sparks on each trigger squeeze AND release, which is really handy. Better than the single-spark gas grill lighters, by far.

After about 4 months it started to be less than reliable.
Should a brilliant idea but it wouldn't work for more than a few goes so if I was cooking a meal I might have to find matches before the end of my preparation time. It's now stopped working altogether. Not really better than cheaper products.

I would look elsewhere next time
OK, what I like about this stove lighter is that: - it is stylish (in my opinion) - it can stand up on it's end (if that's the way you're hoping to store it, which I do on the counter next to the stove) - it never requires batteries or any kind of fuel, and - it consistently sparks when you squeeze the trigger. What I don't like: - the when you squeeze/pull the trigger with your hand, the trigger sticks and does not return to its original position. The upshot of this is that I often get one pull of the trigger and only one attempt to light the burner and with that limitation, I frequently have to turn the burner off, pry open the trigger and try again. Often, I have to do this 4-5 times to light the burner. So, I often will go the drawer to find my $2 BBQ gas lighter....

Junk
The spark is initiated by metal pellets within a plastic tube in a metal bracket by a metal lever. The stop for the metal bracket fails with repeated handle pressure. It is designed to fail. The plastic cannot take the force of the metal bracket- ever. The plastic wall inside will fail with certainty. This is plan to fail immoral engineering and should be easy to litigate. Built to fail and Ozeri's claims are false after a small number of uses. The plastic used is inferior and cannot scientifically withstand the forces it is required to do. Open the handle. It is the plastic wall behind the metal bracket.

Long Lasting
A nice alternative to the lighters we’ve been using. I like that it works without fuel so I won’t be running out to get another bbq lighter for the foreseeable future.
