High Quality and Comfortable

I have a 38 in waist, and 32 length inseam. I first bought the XL. The waist size was comfortable, but the pants were really baggy. I returned those and went with the L regular, and they fit perfect. Granted, they are more snug around the waist, but after a few uses, and a wash, they seem to fit a lot better. The fabric is tough and thicker (good for outdoor use), but it does stretch enough for my needs (I can comfortable crouch and move around freely over terrain). I'd recommend these as I would most 5.11 products I've purchased.

Great pants but mind the sizing!

As many others have already called out, the 5.11 Tactical Men's Combat Cargo Pant Multicamo Ripstop Military Army #74350 (MultiCam TDU Pant) do not follow traditional pant sizing. At 5’11” and ~155lbs, I wear a 30W34L in the 5.11 ABR Pro Pant and 5.11 Stryke Pant with both offering a well-fitting waist and a bit of extra leg length; perfect when wearing boots but requires rolling once to avoid stepping on in socks. The medium MultiCam TDU Pant, suggested as 32-34W, sees me eating heavily into the elastic waist band’s amount of allowed flex while the leg length just slightly bunches at my feet in socks. Another fit issue is the placement of the internal knee pad insert pockets with this pant size and my height. When you are crawling/kneeling, the pocket sits too high on the pant to provide adequate coverage of the knee. I find myself kneeling on the bottom edge of the pocket stitching (raised ridge inside the pant) which is not all that comfortable. I wonder if the Long length would position this pocket better but reviewers have commented on the excessive length and bagginess when going this sizing route. Fit issues aside, the ripstop material is more substantial than the ABR Pro and Stryke pants leading me to believe they will fair better across rock scrambles and cave environments. The cargo pockets at the thighs feature two internal divider pockets allowing you to separate the contents into three areas; these two internal pockets are wide enough to (each) comfortably fit a Samsung Galaxy S9+ for the non-military types. Update: I tried the Large-Long size to directly compare against the Mediums above. Leg length increases by 4" and now positions the knee insert region right where it needs to be for kneeling or crawling. I was much happier with the waist fit and leg length in boots (you'll need to roll them up to avoid stepping on the length when not wearing boots) but the pants are way too baggy at my size/weight. The back of the pant legs, when pinched and pulled away tight, is roughly 4+" inches of extra material. It's a shame these don't follow the sizing of Stryke pants as those are great but in a less durable material...and no Multicam.

Great pants but Snug waistband

I wear a size 30 and these pants (size small) fit very tight due to the elastic waistband. I cut the elastic on the inside of the pant to give me a comfortable, yet still snug fit. Nice, durable ripstop fabric repels the elements and is still comfortable. I also appreciate the built in mag pouches in the cargo pockets.

Great pants, bad sizing.

Overall very heavy-duty pants. These are not what the military would consider "combat pants", meaning they are heavy weight, ripstop material more like the issued ACU/OCP uniforms. That being said they are reinforced in the knees and seat and the comfort waistband is a nice touch. Only thing I didn't like was the size. They have the same sizing as Army OCP's for those who can use that as a reference. I have a 32" waist and 32's in almost every brand fit well with a little room. I got a Med Reg in these and they are very tight at the waist, even though it says a med reg fits a 31-35" waist. My advice to you is to go a size up and get a belt, worst case you'll have a little extra material, but going with your normal size will leave you pretty uncomfortable.

Amazing all around

Great product. The stretch fit is perfect for when you gain or loose a few pounds. Double stitched and is held together better than even proper OCPs. Velcro for pockets. Love it . It is missing the lower shin/leg pockets that are in propper ocps but Deff not a huge miss.

Great pants, deducted 1 start for no multicam tag

I wear 36 x30 Levi 501 jeans, large/short 5.11 pants fit perfectly. Next pair I may get large/reg as the large/short have a habit of riding up over the cuff of 8" boots when seated. I've been wearing various military cargo style camo pants for over 35 years and these seem to be among the best. One issue is multicam usually requires the mfgr to put a multicam tag on their product, these pants don't have the multicam tag but I consider that to be a non-issue. There are internal knee pockets for knee pads. I put knee pads in the pockets and they fit and hold knee pads perfectly.

Too baggy for me

I had to return these. There was no indication on how the fit is on these pants. After I received them, the tag stated "relaxed" fit. Trying them on, the waist and length fit ok, but they were just too baggy. I felt like the legs/thigh were double what I needed. I normally wear a size 31x32 jeans. If I measure my body, I'm around a 30/31"W x 30"L at 5'9". I ordered a medium/short and they fit OK with room at the waist and were perfect in length. Just felt like there was way too much extra material in the legs. Maybe I'll try the Stryke TDU if they ever come back in stock in my size.

Great products but sizing is difficult.

Without having waist sizes no one is getting a good fit!! Make standard sizing for future runs of this product as you for your other pant lines... Great company, bad desision on sizing.. Construction is excellent too bad they are so baggy everywhere...

The pants fit me perfect (although I would've probably done better for a medium size), but they are great quality, built to last forever in rough conditions, and the multicam colours are official and true. Sizing for the pants are true too!
