Perfect for those picky fiish
Bought for my man, so I'm giving a review based on his experience. I ended up buy one (but mine isn't green) Love the color, and it almost acts as blacklight at night in blue LEDs... So perfect for night fishing and watching for a bite. The green really light up, no need for glow light tips. Sensitive. Perfect for salmon fishing that hardly bite. Love the reel, doesn't take long to use if your used to flip bale. Negative. When you drop the lure too fast the reel spools out, really need to be careful because it lets out fast and reels up fast (and super smooth!). Same with hitting the bottom, the reel will keep spooling out. Love the closed reel challenging the open reel. Love the extra handle, fits great on a 5 gallon bucket. (My pole, unfortunately it doesn't have the extended pole) My man hasn't had this issue but I lost a few fish because I went to grab the rod while noticing a bite and accidentally hit the bail release, it's located right under the handle. Love my pole but I'll have to remember not to grab that level on setting the hook. Negative. Which isn't a negative per day but it doesn't have a place to tie a loop for tipups (jaw jacker) but you could run something thin through the last eyelet (which may get in the way of the line). Otherwise I think it performs better that the stiffer poles, my man said it might be 'too' flexible for the jack jacker. We use the older poles in the tipups. Supper fun to catch big fish! Have to fine tune the tightness, harder to set while reeling in a fish like the older flip bail poles but once it's set it's great

Very soft bite sensitive
So out west, we don’t really have much pan fish ice fishing, but I wanted to try this rod/reel combo. I’m not sure it’s the best for heavy fighting trout or lakers. But it was awesome to use for perch. It’s so sensitive visually to see the tip bending when you can’t even begin to feel it! It has gotten me back to the bottom so much faster than any spinning reel can. I’m amazed. But don’t buy this for trout of any size. I hooked one that was over 5lbs and it was just a race to the end of my line.. anyway I love this thing and I’m buying more!!

What a pisser. Not the OG design I loved
Unfortunately this is not an original pickle. My father rolled the sled over and broke my original so I bought this one as a replacement. The original had rubber rings to secure the reel to the rod handle that was compromised of two foam pads. It feels like heaven in your hand. It also allowed you to position the reel so that you could line it up perfectly with the eyelets and compensate for the weight of the reel. Making it so the flat rod tip was always horizontal. Well some people complained about having to put the rings on so now this model has a traditional plastic reel seat that feels awkward and has less sensitivity in your hand. Also the position of the reel seat does not line up with the eyelets and the weight of the reel twists the rod I. Your hand so everything feels and is cockeyed in your hand. They also added a line keeper above the spool that gives one more spot for it to build up on in cold wind that impedes the drop rate of the jig. I wasn’t mad at my father because accident happen but after receiving the replacement I am very disappointed that a rod that felt like heaven in my hand, someone tried “improving” it basically ruined a great thing. Such a bummer. Still a good rod and reel but assembly and new features suck.

Best panfish rod I own
I ice fish at least twice a week. I love this rod and reel. For panfish this beats a spinning reel in every way. The line guard on the reel is great, I have yet to get a birds nest. Completely eliminated line twist. Also the drag isnt as bad as people say. Yes, its silent, but works well enough. I've had to use it on a few 14 + inch bass on 2 lb test line and it was fine. My only advice is not to set this rod down on the ice. Like any reel, if it gets wet it will freeze up and be a pain. I'll honestly probably buy another just so I can have a different jig on it, or so my wife can use it.

Nice balance and feel to this inline reel and rod combo
The rod is light, the reel...eh maybe a bit heavier than I am used to using. The delivery time was excellent and the product was in excellent shape I am looking forward to using it with first ice next year

It's a must-have in your ice rod arsenal.
Got some time in on this setup and I'm impressed. It has extremely high sensitivity and enough flex to pull in the giants. The reel spooled up 50 yards of 6lb fluoro with room to spare. With having a reel seat instead of the rubber O rings it makes for a much less hassle getting setup. It handles everything from micro jigs to larger lures and spoons. The only drawback I've found with it is rather easy to overcome, that being the drag is silent, no clicks to signify line being pulled or stripped. But it does have a slight feel in the reel when a fish pulls line. Overall bottom line: I would absolutely recommend this combo.

Great Rod and Reel
This rod and reel combo is the best I have for pan fish. The tip is very sensitive so it’s easy to detect those light bites. Plus it’s got enough back bone to bring in bigger fish. The only downside is the reel needs to be adjusted to the fall of your bait/lure or it will birds nest on you. With a little patience and tweaking it is easy to figure out. I definitely recommend this rod and reel combo.
