Got the right product on the wrong package.

I ordered two of the Black Betty FreeFall reels, but with RH retrieve. I was very disappointed to see that they were delivered in packages clearly labeled Left Hand Retrieve. So I submitted to return them and get a refund or new reels. On closer look, the right products were delivered (Right Hand Retrieve) but in mislabeled boxes! I didn't really have to return the items! I put them on rods and loaded them up with line. Work perfectly. However, I now can't see how to "un-do" my order return. I did get an email that if I don't return the items within a certain time I will not be refunded. Fair enough! Maybe I'll just hang on to these reels, even if the boxes were labeled wrong.

Awesome reels

Very smooth operation. Line free falls with minimal weight. Ive seen it spool off the reel in the wind with no jig or lure on. Ive caught many slot fish 19-1/2 inches or bigger. (Walleyes) without a glitch.

Best inline reel i own

1st fish to catch with this new outfit was a 28.5" walleye. Next day before sunup it lands another giant 27 incher. Really smooth drag too. Best used inside as alot of machined metal so any water touches it when cold its frozen instantly. Paired it up with a tuned-up custom rod......precision 32" family gave me for B-Day present. Can't go wrong with this reel

Decent if in a shack only

Bought this to spoil myself after already owning the radioactive pickle and a maverick which I absolutely love. The freefall feature is amazing and I can’t recommend it enough. My 7 and 9 year olds used them on their first outing with not a single issue and had a blast catching crappie. My problem with this particular model is due to it being mostly metal exterior and spool - it looks great, but today in the 15 degree F weather, fishing outside, it constantly froze around the metal spool, making it completely useless unless I manually pulled out the line. I couldn’t even see where the ice was forming, so apparently it does not take much moisture for it to happen. Inside the shack it performed ok, but even there I had it get froze up twice. A weird side effect is the spool cap that holds it in place will basically unscrew itself off when you turn the handle while the spool has froze up, which I almost lost once. I really love 13 Fishing so I hope this was just a fluke. I highly recommend the plastic freefall pickle, maverick, and ghost models instead of this.

Quality Reel

I bought this reel for my husband for his birthday because he had it on his wish list. He has used it a couple of times and absolutely loves it. Guess I should have ordered two as he has already ordered one more!

Way better than the Radioactive Pickle

Now this one doesn’t feel like a toy. Very smooth right balance. The difference between a exact o knife and a scalpel. I don’t mind paying for quality and this one has it.

Nice looking but had a lot of problems

I have another freefall reel so I was excited to get what I thought would be an upgrade. The first one I received would not reel in the line due to a gear alignment issue. The second one I received as a replacement had issues with the drop speed control. The magnet would not engage. I was very disappointed in this reel as my past experiences with the cheaper Maverick edition were good.
